Trouble with my seat! Please Help!

So today I tried to put my passenger seat up and found out that the mechanism that allows the seat to flip forward all the way. I am able to make the flip seat forward by reaching under the seat and pulling the lever underneath with my hand. Does anyone know what happened to it that would cause this to happen? I have an '02 TJ.

If the problem is that the seat is not "tumble"ing it's because the cable below the seat got broken..

Both my seats dont work with cables anymore, I have to pull the levers ..

You can lift the back of the seat cover up and see the wire where the mechanism is mine got knocked loose I had to pol it back into place

I had the same problem. Luckily, the wire wasn't broken - the clip on the end that controls the lever at the bottom of the seat had come off. A simple re-clip and I was back in business. Check to see if it is broken or not before buying a new one. The link that gixxerphil posted is a great one, and the dealership is probably the easiest place to get a new one if needed. Definitely take the part number with you when you go!

Thank you for the advice! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I have been very busy lately and haven't had a chance to get on .
