Safari Straps Anyone?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys, while im waiting to install the exhaust and CAI this weekend, im thinking summer's coming. I like the safari strap look, if anyone has seen them. Tits the box shape woven straps. I like the big thick ones. Does anyone have them? Love them?

kbwwolf 02-13-2012 04:32 PM

I've got em...won't put em on till Spring, though. Hatch and Maral (company owners) pretty much rock. I had a question about whether or not they'd fit with an aftermarket soft top I was looking to buy, e-mailed them, and Maral answered my question on a Saturday night, then followed up with some extra info a couple days later.

Just for the record: my inspiration was daggo's rig. :thumb:

Love safari straps!

Might have to look into them now for the Cali summer!

Another one to check out as well... Jeep Cargo Nets and Dog/Pet Barrier Nets - Aspen Manufacturing makes the best Jeep Cargo Net and Dog Barrier Net available.

Great Company, nice people to deal with and a great product. Keeps people out and the dogs in. It's not often when you deal directly with the owners.

That's one good-looking Jeep, IMO.

PieFace 02-13-2012 08:20 PM

I agree. we'll see how it looks on black

If you like the thick look check out cop4x4 if you don't mind not being able to see out the back :P

Very happy with the safari Straps...makes it nice to load gear in the rear tub area when you travel topless and don't need to worry so much with the gear blowing out!

I bought my entire top cheaper then some of these. A 2dr side wrap shouldn't cost more then a $100.

You get what you pay for. Safari Straps are high quality and don't fade. Customer service is outstanding.

Thank you! Since winter in MD was a bust, I can't wait to get the top down and doors off.

Dont mean to hijack...Daggo what mirror relocation mounts do you use? I am trying to decide.

daggo66 02-14-2012 03:03 PM

Rugged Ridge.

i had made a set of safari straps for my YJ and loved them(still have em but wont fit on the jk-for sale). After spending a couple of hours making them, i know why they are so expensive. The work that goes into making them is tedious and exhausting.

They are great though, i drag along 2 pitbulls 75# and 60# and even when they want to get out, the safari straps were awsome at keeping them in.

I am happy with mine also. I bought the ones with the wider netting. My English Setter can get lots of air when we drive and I don't have to worry about her jumping out of the Jeep.

Rockyroad816 02-14-2012 06:04 PM

Question: Do these straps make extra noise or whistle at highway speeds ?
I love the way they look !

Nope...you will not notice them at all.

A hidden benefit is when you have your dog(s) in the Jeep with the top up. It keeps their wet noses from messing up the inside of your vinyl windows.

PieFace 02-15-2012 11:31 AM

Ahhh thats brilliant.

Im going to make an order for some straps. Ill keep you guys posted when they come with some pics.
