Under $250 is expensive? If you drove a rice rocket you'd be paying upwards of $500 for a decent system that doesn't sound half as good.

I took my '04 Sport to Midas---Got Flowmaster with a high flow Cat and an angled tip (hate the chrome part) and I get a LOT of complements from Jeepers and non Jeepers alike.

I love Flowmaster 40 series. I've put them on every vehicle I've owned, except my Rubicon but it'll be on there before the summer. It gives a good little pep on the take off and has a nice mellow rumble to it. They run under $250 and most shops can install them for under that as well.

just go to a local non-chain muffler shop. theres a good chance you'll be surprised how reasonable an exhaust will be.

FWIW, I had a Dynomax muffler welded on by a local shop after I pretzeled my stock exhaust off-road. Honestly, I liked the factory exhaust better...more quiet. The drone gets annoying after a while. Keep in mind, the worst thing while camping in some beautiful secluded place is waking up early in the morning to some moron with a loud exhaust romping on the skinny pedal.

Ain't that the truth. And our access just keeps disappearing... :banghead:

But in defense of jeeps... even obnoxious jeep exhausts I've heard don't carry like a "normal" quad or bike. Was at Taylor Park resevoir (near Gunnison), and the constant drone of quads and bikes off in the distance pretty much ruined the trip for me. I bet their days are numbered out there simply due to noise pollution.

Sorry to jack the thread!

ill be checing out a muffler shop by the end of the week! thanks guys!

229 shipped is a good price

TJspeed 02-14-2012 01:49 PM

my local exhaust shop $125 for a flowmaster 40 with install and labor. On my nissan old i had all new pipping from the manifold down, new cat, flowmaster super 44, all total out the door price $300.

yoopone 02-14-2012 01:50 PM

Banks Monster. Jeep sounds sweet after about 4 months. Got to let the muffler pack in a bit.

ky03tj 02-14-2012 01:55 PM

I installed a flowsound exhaust about a month ago, if installed correctly it sounds identical to a flowmaster 40. Muffler shop only charged me 160 for everything including the pipe coming out from the muffler

motoxer96 02-14-2012 10:59 PM

I have a flowmaster set up. Not to spendy and has a great sound to it. Not to load or quiet. Get lots of compliments.

lucky4075 02-14-2012 11:07 PM

flowmaster super 40 with stock piping. You can get the muffler off of amazon for very reasonable, I also had a magnaflow universal cat installed since both my muffler and cat rotted out pretty much on the same day. Sounds very good, especially when the engine gets good and warmed up.

College_fishman 02-15-2012 08:05 AM

thanks for the info! ill look into that!
