Jeep Wrangler TJ Pocket Fender Flares Made by TAG (TX) | eBay

wondering if anyone has experience with ebay flares

tangofox007 02-16-2012 09:50 PM

Hopefully they know more about fender flares than they do front tow hooks!!!

Coastiejeep 02-16-2012 09:53 PM

Bawahahaha good catch on the tow hooks

SirGeorgeKillian 02-16-2012 09:56 PM

That is hilarious

ktot 02-16-2012 09:57 PM

Theres a couple of posts about them if you do a search. Apparently they aren't half bad for the price.

SippiTJ 02-16-2012 10:10 PM

I have them. They've held up great. I put them on last summer. I am pretty sure I did a thread on it.

Do it. I have enjoyed mine.

ktot 02-22-2012 06:04 PM

Due to my recent obsession with Bedliner. I ordered the textures pocket flares. For 200 shipped you can't beat it.

i got those flares, there around 2 years old, and all but 1 of the fenders, have wollowed out the bolt on the end of the fenders, so then i used a washer and it eventually tore through again, but all and all there bushwacker looka likes for half the price, im still running the fenders,

baerbonesjones 02-23-2012 12:57 AM

bolt holes in the fender, is what i ment to say

ktot 02-23-2012 09:06 AM

Thanks for the input. If it doesn't come with washers I might put some on during the install to avoid this problem.

SippiTJ 02-23-2012 09:43 AM

My kit came with washers. I got mine from quadratec though.

baerbonesjones 02-24-2012 01:10 AM

thay came with washers, just dont over crank the bolts over tighting is parobably what happen

Imped 02-24-2012 08:43 AM

Ugly and non-functional.

gregward93 02-24-2012 12:14 PM

I'm thinking about getting them too. My stock fenders are looking pretty rough. The only thing is I run 33's and I kinda like the look where my tires stick out. If I get the 6" ones will they still stick out any? I have no idea the dimensions of stock flares.

IslandTJ 02-24-2012 12:43 PM

LOL tow hooks

Classic...

Badass_TJ 02-24-2012 01:20 PM

I just bought a set of the rugged ridge ones similar to those (6" pocket style) off ebay from CSE Offroad. they were 250 shipped, 6 piece kit all stainless hardware the fit and quailty was great, havent wheeled or anything with them yet, but they seem pretty rugged, One tip tho, make sure you got thread rivets befor you start the job, 5mm x .08... chances are your gonna have to replace some.. I did

xndrxw 02-24-2012 01:40 PM

I put them on my jeep. The rear left one has two cracks in it from the screw. If you hit anything with them or anyone else hits them they will crack. An example would be someone pushing a shopping cart into it and cracking them, this is what happened to mine.

ipleadda2nd 02-24-2012 04:09 PM

I owned them. Read this:

I install heating and air, and was working at a guys house that had a nice Green Sahara Tj. And of course we got to talking about Jeeps, I told him we needed to go 4 wheeling some time and he said he would gladly pull me out lol. Well I told him i would try to pull him out if he got stuck, but that his front hooks prolly wouldn't work. He asked why?? I showed him that they were backwards lol. He got red in the face and walked away. Then his wife came out and told me that he had just put those on 2 days before lol. Thank god the job was done!!

ktot 02-24-2012 05:27 PM

Just installed the rear drivers side. I have 33/12.5/15 Wild Peaks
