VDP 6 speaker soundbar

I have the vdp 6 speaker soundbar and want to upgrade the speakers. I know that 6.5's will fit but what size are the others? Does anyone know?

ok I just found the speaker bar on Quadratec website. It says that the other speakers are 2" and 1" tweeters. Can I replace the 2" and 1" also? I have an amp that is overpowered for the soundbar, it is a 1500 watt class D. Can i hook to soundbar and turn it way down? What are thoughts?

I doubt your going to find anything in the way of a 2" replacement worth a crap, the 1" will be fine. What kinda amp is it? Normally a 1500 Class D is a sub only amp.

I forgot about that. It is a Quantam. I had it pushing a Kicker L5 12". The kicker won't fit behind my back seat so I have to do something different.

What does the crossover switch say on it? LPF and HPF?

I will have to check it when I get home. What does LPF and HPF stand for and which would I need to hook to soundbar?

Ibuildembig 02-17-2012 01:46 PM

LPF is low pass filter for subs and HPF is high pass filter for mids/highs. If it only has a LPF I'd say it won't be a good choice for your soundbar.

so if it has a switch for HPF then it can be wired to the bar correct? If it does, I just need to figure out how to wire it up to the bar then.

Yeah, take a pic of the controls and post it :)

it has a LPF so I guess it won't work for the soundbar. I guess I need to find a 8" or 10" in a sealed box and put behind the back seat.
