Did you fail to stop at a school crossing?

Did you buy the jeep used? Do you have front sway bar disconnects?

I was going to ask, is that the strap that holds them when disconnected?

johnnykuta 02-20-2012 06:00 PM

i have a 2012 4 door Rubicon, brand new, with auto sway bar disconnect.

Maybe i have some toddlers backpack stuck in the grill..which begs the question, where is the toddler?

could it be a snare? wanna catch those pesky neighborhood cats who like to sleep on tires at night?

johnnykuta 02-20-2012 06:13 PM

i will put some Whiskers on the tire and see what i catch...

Looks like the limit strap that goes on a 12 when you have a Mopar lift kit.

johnnykuta 02-20-2012 06:54 PM

limit strap?

What does the owners manual say?

Militaryman4455 02-20-2012 07:55 PM

I hope to god thats not a limit strap. That thing would break quick when disconnected. Why dont you just figure out what it does. Shouldnt be that hard. Follow it around and see what its connected to.

bengen1 02-20-2012 08:01 PM

did some googleing, its a possible braided ground strap????

OutlawJK 02-20-2012 08:03 PM

Looks like a Friday build

PittJeep 02-20-2012 08:03 PM

I'm curious just how many people are going to go check their Jeep for this strap now "just in case" lol. :)

themoneypit 02-20-2012 08:23 PM

Well, I know at least one person did. Didn't see it, but mines a 11'

lilmush 02-20-2012 08:45 PM

It is for the sway bar disconnect. I had a bds lift kit installed with disconnecting sway bars and they installed that strap on mine too.

20Sahara11 02-20-2012 09:08 PM

Thought maybe a worker lost their roach clip.

OH9JK 02-20-2012 09:31 PM

Someone loose a dog?

johnnykuta 02-21-2012 12:45 AM

Just had a BDS lift installed, so maybe they put it in. It's auto disconnect though so totally useless.

MarineHawk 02-21-2012 01:01 AM

If you don't reconnect that strap to your tie rod, you could lose your whole front end. Just sayin'.

Was just going to say this. Getting the BDS put in on Monday and this was pointed out to me on one they had just done.
