I don't think this one is gonna make it boys. And girls.

cut the whole bigger throw a 10 in there

8" is plenty for a little wrangler. Get a Boss CX8 for 17 bucks on amazon. I got one and it is plenty for what I need. Though if you like rap and a lot of techno then maybe go 10". They also sell cone kits to repair your sub but I wouldn't bother.

Ehh..nothing a little duct tape won't fix. :thumb:

haha looks like mine. i jsut found out i had a speaker so i started to take it all apart. its a 6 1/2 right? any good replacements that wont be too much for the amp to push?

Bruck 02-24-2012 07:39 AM

I bought the Quadratec replacement. It works just fine....

cntryboy232 02-25-2012 01:38 PM

I thought about that but thats 80 bucks. I looked around and found out people been using Pyramid and has the same 4 connections. Ill post about it when I get it next week so others will know if they want to go cheap what to get and if any mods are done to make it work.

i put a jl audio w3v3 6.5 sub in mine and it sounds better than some 8 and even 10 that i have heard. its a little bit of cash to set it up but by far one of the best things i have done for my sound system!

I have a Rockford Fosgate 12" in mine and while good, 2-12s would be better. I can't imagine an 8" being plenty for any vehicle. Can't stand rap or techno, rock and country for me but I like it to hit hard.

cntryboy232 02-28-2012 10:57 AM

I went with the stock size 6.5. I dont have time to mod it. But i hope it sounds good for 15 bucks.

Then your not setting it up right or you want to be heard from 5 blocks away. When I say it's plenty I could turn it up and give myself a headache from the bass before one song is over. For the mass majority of people that is plenty of bass. It also may not sound the best either but again most people aren't audiophiles. Also powering and finding a space for an 8" sub is much easier and lighter on the wallet I will not pay over 100 bucks for just a sub. 8" is plenty for the average person and plenty for a Jeep. Were not ridding around in huge suburbans or rolling around with silly lowered cars on 26" wheels trying to vibrate the trunk off.

There is a bass test on youtube you can use to see how nice the sub is working. Make sure you set it to the 1080p resolution.

pyramid makes a 6.5 sub for about 15 bucks. I used it in my last jeep when the factory sub was blown. Works great

Yes I'm setting it up right. I personally like heavy hitting hard bass. No such thing as bass giving me a headache, maybe some crappy highs not eq'd right. I'm not talking rap style boom bass, but hard heavy tight bass like a good kick drum. I like it when the kick drum in a song feels like I'm getting punched in the chest. Just my preference. Kinda like my home theater setup. When watchin a movie with a canon blast, I like to FEEL it, not just hear it.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the factory wires that go to the factory amp in the center console?

cntryboy232 02-28-2012 04:21 PM

Its floating somewhere in forums. I found it if not its in other wrangler off google. I found it once before looking for replacement

I have 2-12s in my TJ and it sounds exactly like what you're looking for. The box is $40 and can be at your door for around $60

i got our jeep with a aftermarket kenwood head unit and our sub isnt working, ive checked the fuse, taken the dash apart and looked at the wiring, the po decided to splice instead of getting a adapter, and saw the blue remote(power antenna) wire wasn't attached. looking at the diagram on this page im not sure what to attach it to. i tried the blue incase it was the obvious answer, no luck. then i tried lite green thinking since it was a 12v output that might be the remote wire, again no luck. has anyone solved this problem

2000jk 03-13-2012 01:01 AM

Do you have a Rubicon with the center condole sub or aftermarket sub?

brendend 03-14-2012 01:04 AM

Sport with the center consol sub

2000jk 03-14-2012 01:30 AM
