Depends where you go. Places like Walker Valley and Tahuya or any other state parks you need permits. Some other places you dont, for example the sand dunes in Moses Lake and Beverly they aren't needed.

From what I'm reading, it sounds as if Tahuya is a good place for noobs. I'm eager to test the Sahara's abilities, and don't fear getting stuck (assuming there's a winch nearby). I'm not keen, however, on pinstriping. If the trails are usually relatively wide, I'd be up for a trip out there.

Watched a few vids. Looks like it's pretty wide open.

A Washington Discover pass is needed at all State Forest and Parks in Washington.

There's few tight spots, but they aren't bad at all. We went 2 weeks ago with a couple of stock rigs. They had a blast. Our daughter has an '04TJ and we are teaching her off roading.

If you want to come along, we should meet around 10AM at the Safeway in Belfair.

Info:

Purchase:
Washington State Discover Pass

You can also get daily and yearly passes at local sporting goods stores, etc. I get mine at Big5 down the street. Google a bit, you'll find more.

nathan10 02-24-2012 08:27 PM

Awesome! Thanks! Unfortunately I'm working this Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to join you all soon though.

Well, we have a couple of stock rigs and some new to the wheelin' thing folks, so not so sure about yellow jacket. We will show it to them and give them the choice though. The missus may take it on in my rig.:punk:

Don't sweat it. Every rock crawl has a by pass. We can check them out if any body wants to hit them.

Thanks for the invitation, Bob. I had a fantastic time! Ask me after I've seen (what I predict will be) my new paint job in the morning light, we'll see how I feel then. ;)

A few vids from today. Please pass along to the peeps from the other sites. Can't wait to see the ones you folks took!
