WAY overpriced. I've seen $750 to $1500 thrown around as typical.

Plowboy1970 02-21-2012 05:44 PM

I see around here for $500-800

There is a frame with axles (rolling chassis) around me and I think it was $800??? Sure, Dana 30/35 but with complete suspension!!!

There is one on CL in Southern AZ for $450.00 right now.

Thanks for the input everyone. Daveysjeeps would be good but it's a 12 hour drive each way, and my only vehicle that can tow a trailer is my jeep. I did send them an email though seeing what it would cost for a good frame, and if they could ship it.

check truck stops

Check with some truck stops to see if some truckers are going that way. They would likely have room, it isn't heavy and can be loaded in a lot of ways. May just charge a couple hundred to pick up and drop off. Might even find one you know that is going that way.

Or go here and post up what you have, where it is, where it's going and let the truckers bid down to what your willing to pay......:thumb:

I don't know if this helps or not but there is a company called Throttle Down Customs ( you can google them )that makes new replacement frames for jeeps. Right now they only make cj and yj frames. A friend of mine got a frame for his cj7 and was very happy with it. So i e-mailed them the other day and was told that they are developing the tj frame now due to the demand for it. They should available in the next year. I was going to start looking in the next year or 2 anyway so I'm just going ti wait for the new one. Hope this helps.

Any idea on the pricing of that? I know a new frame from chrysler would be 3200.

Looks like the CJ frames start at $1800 and the YJ frame starts at $2400 so I'd guess a TJ would start around $2500 or so. Just a guess.

I just had a used frame put under my TJ by a body shop.(the owner is an acquaintance) Price with frame around $3000. I get it back Wednesday, and the final bill. It took him 3 tries to get a useable frame, but worth the wait. He didn't call me with any major add ons, so I'm hoping that cost is close.

I have 3 frames, rust free from the Pacific NW, one each for a 4.0, a 2.5, and one with the motor mounts removed. I realize shipping is an issue but at $350 each maybe it could work. Also have a couple straight rust free tubs. PM if you have questions.

Hi,
Is the 4.0L frame still available and would it fit a 1998 TJ, thanks
