dream Trip?

Ok let me start by saying im sick and in bed so i have nothing else to do.
With that being said....

What would be your dream wrangler trip if you had unlimited funds?
Im talking even crazy stuff.. like take some acid and drive to the moon... well that might be a little to crazy.

Ok for me i would want to find a way to drive from Key West FL to Barrow Alaska. then cross that point up there that goes to Russia in the winter when its frozen and keep going till i get to the west cost of Ireland then put some of those floating tires on and float to the us again. ooo btw i want to do this on no paved roads.

The Moab

Feel better soon :)

GREEN-MACHINE 02-22-2012 06:45 AM

coast to coast just using power lines and gas lines,,, I've been to the moon and beyond. ( see sig under my screen name )

denisbaldwin 02-22-2012 06:49 AM

I'd do the Baja run. It's something my father (when he was young and capable) always talked about doing in one of his Super Beetles... and never did. I know it's something he regrets. It's something I've considered doing too.. even if not in the Baja 1000... just doing the run would be awesome.

TrueNorth 02-22-2012 02:56 PM

Going snow camping for 3 days with several other Jeeps this weekend to Mt.Rainier National Park. High mountain snow is an amazing thing to see.

This is sunrise on the North side from the white River valley last time we camped there.

Well..........

I retire next week (Feb 29) after 43-yrs with a Defense Contractor :thumb:

Purchased my retirement vehicle (2012 JKU-S, Moded her) and wanted to do a coat-2-coast trip, with no schedule :D

However, with the price of gas climbing by the day, and much more expensive out West, it's taken the wind out of my sails

So, time and the economy will tell :hide:

Trans-Am Trail(TAT)
Complete set is $372.00 with 4,177 miles from Tennessee to Oregon
(or you may purchase individual states separatly)

I found this several years ago, and have wanted to to this so bad on a bike, but I think a jeep would be awesome.

That's doable. Let's do it! Summer's around the corner ;)

chris.george 02-22-2012 08:23 PM

There's a bunch of places in CA I want to take my Jeep still (since I'm new to Jeeps).

The Rubicon, Death Valley, Oceano, Big Bear, Shasta, Rainer, the list goes on and on.

Chrispy 02-22-2012 08:48 PM

Oh yea, northern Michigan to Alaska, and back, spend all summer driving across Alaska, get on the ferry and go across to Kodiak, drive north of Fairbanks on the Haul road...so many places to see, even the drive up the Alaska Highway is an adventure!!
Great Question, hope you feel better soon:)

Aunt Flow 02-22-2012 10:21 PM

but if u have unlimited funds u don't have to worry about that any way

crafty 02-23-2012 12:26 PM

That would be the only way to keep unlimited funds and own a Jeep at the same time.

Robin in VA 02-23-2012 01:58 PM

I've done this one before with my family, but I would love to in my Jeep.... drive all the way from VA to CA. and I want a picture of me & my Jeep in each state to remember the trip!

Baby Huey 02-27-2012 01:55 AM

+1. As soon as it's possible to drive south of Texas without getting shot at or having to bribe police and military every 5 minutes, this is what I want to do.

nmtj 02-27-2012 11:58 PM

MOAB

I went this last summer, my jeep was almost 100% stock but it was amazing. I'm hopping I can go back this summer too. But I'd like to hit up Colorado and California if money wasn't an issue.

Google maps don't do a very good job of showing the trails in Moab. There are so many trails and they are widely dispersed. There is a bunch right by the city, but a lot more elsewhere including the La Sal Mountains (which was great). I tried to look at a few, but it doesn't do justice.

Tuggin 02-29-2012 12:03 PM

I would

Years ago my wife and I had the privilage to spend some time in Grants New Mexico. We drove my Jeep Commando up Mt Taylor very near to the top but the snow was too deep, fantastic fun and the views where awesome...I would like to vistit that area again, probably can't get up to those mountain views any more
