Please help dead yj
I woke up for work today like every other day went out to my 92 yj renegade and it started, sputtered then shut off. i then tried to restart with no luck i was annoyed so i drove my wifes car. I came home and tried again no start so heres what ive done. I checked fuel at rail and it squirts out of the valve just fine so i got fuel.
I then checked spark and yes i have spark i only checked one but it did spark.
I moved relays around and still nothing.
I then unhooked cps cuz i know they go bad like it did on my cherokee and after it was unhooked for about 5 min it sputtered but didnt start. I am at a loss guys please help, my gut says cps but i dont know, also someone said something about a cam senser on another post do i have one on the 4.0 of the 92 or no?

I also have a check engine light still if that helps....

have you used the ignition key to check the codes for the check engine light?....if not, do that and post the results....

check engine light has never been on while running only whe i turn the key

turn on, off, on,off and on.
now count the number of flashes on the check engine light. they will be in set of two . on-off isone cycle e.g..
=1 2 = 12

so, u'll get some thing like

sothat is 12, 14.... this will keep on goingtill u get 55.

get that infor and post the codes u get

i dont have a way to get codes, sorry its just in my driveway. i doubled checked spark and fuel today both are there. I was wondering if maybe i dont have enough fuel pressure but i should still get something when i spray starting fluid in and i get nothing. also i checked compression and its there i think jus did the finger over the hole method.

You don't have to take to take it anywhere to get the codes, just use your key..look at ks73's post... Have a piece of paper with you and pencil to count the flashes of the CEL should be like 1 flash...pause then 2 flashes =12 etc....

i just did this and got numbers 12,33,11,17,and 41. number 11 is no crank signal to pcm that means my crank sensor is bad right?
