Gas Mileage

Hey guys. I am brand hammer new to the forum and new to Jeeps as well. I have always admired Jeeps and finally decided to purchase my first one. I just got my 2002 X Apex edition 4.0 last Friday and I absolutely love it!! Anyways, it has a 2 1/2" lift with 33's so gas mileage isnt the best, nor is power. 5th gear is useless for any inclines on the highway, and as far as MPG goes, I am getting around 14 MPG. So I was wondering what you guys might suggest to improve MPG and possibly regain some power.

I have a 99 4.0 5sp with 4.56 gears 3" of lift and 33's I drove 300 miles yesterday and averaged 17.9 on the highway.

Thats pretty good. It seems like the best way to regain MPG and power is to re-gear. I dont plan on doing a lot of offroading, so it would be cheaper to do just the rear, but then again, I never know when I will need 4wd. How much was it to do your gears?
