Down line in a wind storm

I hit a semi downed line tonite in a wind storm going over 50. No damage. But damn it was scary!!!

56cj5 02-25-2012 04:27 AM

I think it was only a cable tv line but. Still. Wow.

That must have sucked. Glad your ok. Good thing your windshield wasn't down ;)

All I keep thinking about is whatever the movie was where they attached the cable to the motorcycle cops belt and when he drove off he was yanked off his bike.

I hear that wind storm is headed our way here in NH.

That sucks, looks like you won't be grilling this weekend. We were getting drilled with wind down her in Statesboro too.

Sue the maker of your grill...claim the fine print said nothing about placing the grill beneath falling trees/branches. You should be able to earn a free grill out of it...

Ha thankfully I wasn't home at the time

Also gotta replace gutters, couple pieces of vinyl siding, and potentially some roof damage. Which sucks bc I got a new roof in Nov

Ha yeah. Maybe instead of the infrared I had I can get upgraded to the Green Egg I've been eyeing.

I have a large Egg and it was probably the best investment I have made in a long time. If you can afford it I say go for it. I got mine last November and have gone through 3 20lb bags of charcoal since.

Nice!
I grilled on one last summer and fell in love. I am looking at investing in one this summer. I hear if taken care of they last a very long time too.

We had good 60 MPH gusts all night....and I'm on the other side of the world.. lol!

Damage is worse than I thought. Two holes in roof. Few support beams in attic cracked. Drywall cracked in bedroom

Dang! That sucks.... sorry to hear it.... sigh... The most we have here from wind damage is the 6 foot wooden fences get torn out in 8 ft sections and sail like a kite into cars. No big trees where Im at....

At end of day wasn't horrible. Just under $5K in damage. They gave me $725 for cutting tree and replacing some shingles myself. So that goes towards my deductible. And he gave more $ towards my grill than I paid for it. Plus gave me money to have master bedroom repainted professionally but I just painted last year. So at end of day I may actually make a couple dollars off if it.
