The only thing I don't like about my new JKUR...
After two full months of waiting, I finally took delivery of my new JKUR. I absolutely love it! Last night the wife and I went out to dinner. On the way home, we took a back route that took us down some country roads. That's when I realized just how bad the headlights on these things really are! I turned on the high beams. That of course causes the fog lights to turn off. For a moment I thought all the lights went off! I switched back to the low beams. At least the fog lights came back on and lit up the road in front of the Jeep.
I have read many comments in this forum about how bad the headlights are on Wranglers. I hate belaboring this topic, but until you actually experience it for yourself... Well, to say the least, I was shocked to see how bad they really were. Clearly a set of high powered, off road lights are going to get installed, but that doesn't solve the daily driver problem.
Something has to be done immediately. Are my headlights just way out of adjustment, or are these things really that bad? Would replacing the bulbs with the Phillips H13 9008, or the Sylvania H13ST be a worthwhile improvement, or do I just bite the bullet and replace the whole headlight assembly?
Thanks for the help and for letting me vent. Other than the headlights, I love my first Jeep!
For bulbs, a pair of the Phillips Xtremes work well.
Just installed Philips Xtreme 80+ Bulbs

There's also the Rallylights upgrade, probably the best bang for the buck:
