Proper backspacing

Buying 33 12.5 15...tj 97 4 in lift. Looking for new wheels, what backspacing do I need to avoid rubbing?

4.5" max bs for a 12.5" tire on a TJ. 4-3.75" are most common.

Thank you. Any idea how far past the stock fender flares that will be with 4in BS?

Tires will be about 4" outside of standard flares

4" of backspacing on a 15x8 wheel will position the wheel 1.5" further out than a factory 15x8 wheel with its typical 5.5" amount of backspacing is. Also, my advice is to go with nothing wider than a 15x8 for that size tire. Your tires would have an easier time remaining safely seated when aired way down for offroading than they would on a 15x10 wheel.

Mine with 3.75 backspacing and 33x12.5x15 tires on 15x10 rims
