Where to mount portable compressor in 2012 JKUR

So I just received the Q Industries Superflow MV50 12V portable air compressor I ordered from the Amazon one day sale last Friday. I would like to mount it somewhere under the hood and eventually connect it to a 2 gal tank with remote connections in the front and back of the vehicle. Right now I would like to just find a home for it to use it if needed before I get the whole project completed. There is so little space available under the hood but I found that if I place it over the battery it seems to barely fit. So does anyone think this is a bad idea? Any problems with mounting it there? I have attached a pic of it laying on the battery. I think I will have to fab up some sort of mount to keep it off the battery and make it easily removable if I need to get more battery access. And if anyone has mounted a similar portable compressor under the hood, how and where did you do it? The MV50 is a bit large BTW. Thanks!

I don't think mounting near or on top of the battery is a good idea. There was a link with Sneck's "sale" thread that said the MV can get up to 200+ with prolonged airing duties.

I know the engine itself gets hot, but...

I could be totally wrong.

Ok, not entirely the answer you were looking for... But...

Mine fits perfectly under the center/back seat in it's little bag! Just don't try putting the seats down with it under there. The little plastic air filter could be crunched pretty easily.

Replace your stock muffler and stick it under there, ha. There is so much room down there, not sure what to do with it yet.

I still haven't gotten mine but I have been looking into doing this also. Its going to be really tough, The new engine bay doesn't have a lot of room...

There goes my dual battery install. Guess I'll just keep a spare when I go out in the wilderness ;)

I saw a thread on another JK or Wrangler website on putting it behind the passenger tail light, inside the quarter panel. It was months ago I was looking at it. I think building a cover for it and mounting under the Jeep may not be a bad idea, as long as it is protected.

Compressor room

Checkout inside the right rear taillight opening in the fender. I'd say there's 3-4 cu feet in there, and it's pretty well sealed and easy access for wires. I don't know how easy it is to get the compressor in the taillight hole. No way a tank would fit there but I've seen others put a tank in the jack/jumper cable/ tow chain compartment.
