Pic of my 2012 Rubicon

This forum was helpful in my decision as I purchased a 2012 Rubicon...3.73, saddle leather, 730 entertainment, added mopar bumpers and side rails along with mopar aftermarket wheels ( I have originals in garage for out of the ordinary snow here in East TN )...I needed the radials because I have to use this vehicle to commute and haul customers in...so quite a bit of concrete ...but I do fly fish and hit some moderate stuff! Pre-kids I had a jeep about ten years and went with the whole "blacked out" thing...so I went with silver and chrome on this one and removed all decals for a "clean" look...besides the street tires I think I like the look? Opinions? Remember I gotta use this thing to haul clients through the week! I contract to municipalities and telephone co-ops.

Thanks for all the friendly and helpful advice...I've never been on a forum or any social media...

kjeeper10 02-27-2012 06:41 PM

C6Rubicon 02-27-2012 06:45 PM

Dude,
You just turned your Rubicon into a Sahara. LOL :)

Monte Hill 02-27-2012 06:46 PM

Oh and I forgot to mention I had a 3m product applied to chrome grill, front of the fenders and hood and around windshield to prevent stone chips, bug stains etc...let u know what I think...line-x Is what I used on my old jeep w blacked out theme, so that didn't seem like the right option w this look, but time will tell.

^ agreed. Everyone loves the rubi stickers. Good thing they make replacements in case you ever want them again!

Monte Hill 02-27-2012 06:50 PM

I know...back and forth on the decals...I can always put em back...we have a fleet deal through Chrysler and I gotta a buddy who can help me out if needed...Rubi tire cover or is that too wimpy?

Slatecaller 02-27-2012 06:58 PM

Looks like a Sahara but you know what it is and thats all that matters.

Sgt.slaughter 02-27-2012 07:07 PM

I love how individual everyone makes their Jeep. It's crazy how many different options are out their to make it your own and this one is a perfect example of that!! I love the all silver but personally am not a fan of chrome anything. CONGRATS! And welcome!

johnnykuta 02-27-2012 07:07 PM

looks good, very clean!

Congrats on you're new Jeep. Just my opinion since you asked. I really dislike painted fenders/roof on a wrangler as is but tying that in with chrome on almost any car especially a "rugged" Wrangler doesn't look good imo.

marc10000 02-27-2012 07:22 PM

Looks great. A true "sleeper". LOL

Monte Hill 02-27-2012 07:32 PM

Thanks all...thinking about the dark silver "Rubi" decal on the hood so it's there but does not stand out as much as black...

Exactly my thoughts, why didn't you just buy a Sahara? It's more than capable for any moderate stuff you'd throw at it.

Duffyc04 02-27-2012 08:07 PM

I typically am a jeep expert (outside of the genius found on this forum), but if I saw your Jeep with rubi stickers and/or a rubi tire cover I honestly would think its someone with a sahara trying to pass it off as a rubicon...

Of course you could lock those radials, disco that sway bar and hit the trails with the best of them and zip me up...

Congrats on your jeep though...Im just so in love with my rubi, I can't imagine wanting to cover it up

jp2611 02-27-2012 08:08 PM

It is your Jeep do what you want......I think it needs like a black accent/ pinstrip!!! I know, I know,.......... its a Jeep, but JKU's dressed up like that look like they are in a Tux..and that one is missing his TIE... Sweet Rig though just find his Tie....... whatever that may be.

And to me that is a whole other side of Jeep that is acceptable, A true "off-road" capable vehicle used for transportation on a regular daily basis, that is ready with true off-road capability for when it is needed.

Kinda reminds me of a United States Soldier in a Dress uniform.

In several years when it is replaced by a new company vehicle I felt the rubicon platform would be better to "build" from...afraid I'm not around any malls I do have a cabin on a WV brown trout stream though! For now that's my off roading...still love it, mostly on the behalf of my three little boys!

This is exactly what I was thinking, like a ghost emblem. Maybe a matte silver decal.

Arcticshaun 02-27-2012 09:36 PM

Ok I gota say. For the love of god put the rubi stickers back on and get rid of that Crome :) and that will b a bad ass ride inside and out once again :D But that's my opinion and my opinion doesn't mean dodo :). But in all it is a Nice jeep and congrats.

devicemanager 02-27-2012 09:37 PM
