yeah any normal gas can you buy anymore has to have the stupid push button, makes putting fuel in a yj quite difficult.. i havent done it but a friend of mine did, wasnt easy and it still left a bit in the can
02-29-2012 04:19 PM
so you cant use an old can?
02-29-2012 04:32 PM
You can if you have one.. they just don't sell them here anymore
02-29-2012 04:33 PM
They are selling those here too, they are junk.
02-29-2012 04:40 PM
yeah im pretty sure it was federally mandated.. i hate them.. though harbor freight still carries the jerry cans with normal filler necks

We should raid every store that has those frecking gas cans and set April 27th (Arbor Day) to burn them ALL in a public display of disapproval for environmentalists- just for fun we should fill them with gas. They are seriously the most annoying cans ever. But a funnel helps, sometimes. Good thing I keep all of my old cans with screw on cap and extendable filler tube.

There's a few places you can grab them. Did you have a size preference?
4wheelparts in San Jose (or Oakland if that's closer) can get them for you. You can also get them from your local mechanic/autobody place (probably for cheaper, and build a relationship with your mechanic).
