Rear speaker wires (never sound bar)
I have searched this forum and others and just cannot seem to locate the rear speaker wires for my 98. This jeep never had a sound bar that I can tell, so I assume the wires are in the door or bar somewhere?
We installed an aftermarket stereo and found that there were 4 speakers wired in the plugs at the back of the OEM radio, so they must go somewhere? Of course, they disapear into a big bundle of wires and go left and right in the dash, no way to trace them unless you break up the bundle.
I hope this collection of bright Wrangler owners knows this simple question.
Under the edge of the door opening on the drivers side tub.
Then they go up the rollbar under the covers. Unzip the rollbar cover right beside the drivers seat and you should find the wires. ;)
Excellent, should I expect a connector of some sort? If it is a connector, where to get a corresponding connector so I can wire in my own speakers?
The rear speakers go to a red connector in a group of connectors in the left kick panel area. It has 10 pins & if the jeep did not come with a sound bar there is no "back half" of that connector (never installed). You should be able to connect there. The wire colors you are looking are: BR/YL, BR/LB, DB/WT, DB/PK
"IN SOFT-TOP 2 - SPEAKER SYSTEM VEHICLES THE FEMALE SIDE OF C323 IS NOT PRESENT"
So no wires go up the roll bar.
