Do the side mirrors fold on an 11-12 JK?

So I was searching Google earlier trying to find out how much roll or pitch a JK could take before going over and I ran across this thread here and in the video around the 40 second mark you can see the passenger side mirror is folded in. I know this is an older JK though. I haven't seen anything in the manual about it though and if they do move........they seem like they're in place pretty good right now.

My 09's fold in. Even after they've been relocated. It's a must on tight trails.

Yes, the turn/fold in.

Hmm, I will have to try again. My 350Z had foldable mirrors (i.e. turn in towards the body) and they moved fairly easily. I thought I was going to break them on the Jeep and gave up, that's why I'm wondering if they changed something for 11 & 12 with the redesign inside.

There's a notch or something in them...hold the mirror with two hands (so you don't slam it into the window) and push firmly. It'll fold in. The notch is where it seats when it's in the normal position. You'll feel it when you push it in, and when you swing it back out it'll stop there.

Not sure I explained that well. But they do fold in. :)

Ok thanks. I'll try that out. I think the last time I really tried, it felt like the plastic tweaked all of a sudden but maybe I finally "broke it free" and it was moving and I just didn't realize it. The way it happened it had kind of scared me and I let go and never tried it again. That was back when I first took delivery though.

Yeah, they are stiff. But they'll move. :thumb:

Yes, the mirror bracket folds in. I have done it. Support the complete bracket with both your hands and swivel it in. In it's normal position like kbbwolf mentioned, it sits in some kind of a slot and needs some extra force to started.

Thanks guys yep I got them to move last night. Definitely a bit different than my Z was. For that, each position had a slot to "sit in". The Jeep only has a slot for the normal position.
