2004 - 2006 TJ's: what's best?

Hey folks! I'm brand new here and planning to buy my very first Jeep. I'm pretty damn excited!

I'm considering 2004-2006 TJ's. Is any one of those model years better than the others? Any advice on questions I should make sure I ask?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to the Forum

04-06 are all pretty much the same. I really wouldn't say that one is better or worse than the other.

Not sure there is much difference but I saw this somewhere and you might want to do some research:

"I think I'd limit that to 03-04... The 05-06 OPDA issue is HUGE but Chrysler refuses to do anything about it or issue a new revision of the OPDA to fix the problem. I know if mine ever goes south and gets the cam in the process, I'll be in the local service dept. every day until they fix it now that it has been admitted there is an issue and there are recorded cases of dealerships fixing it for free. I hear the rubi 6-speed also has some issues but i'm not sure exactly what they are. my throwout bearing is making quite a bit of noise but that might not be a factory issue." Good Luck and Welcome
