Anyone know of a mechanic/shop that knows Jeeps in the central part of CT?

There is a place in Manchester that I checked out called 4x4 Performance but he said he's never worked on a JK. :whistling:

Thanks my fellow CT Jeep peeps!

Sorry to say it but "no, I do not". Actually, Extreme Vehicle Builders in Danbury is about the only one I hear any of the CT Jeepers talk about. Kind of odd that there really are not any 4x4 specific shops around us.

Well thats a bummer. It is surprising.

I think I'll give this guy in manchester a shot & see. When I walked in his shop last week he had some old Monte Carlo on the lift with big ass bicycle wheel looking things on it. They had to be like 20's! It scared me. :o

I've been dealing with CTAxle for a few things, they do almost "anything" but specialize in axles, what do you need done?

Sueby 03-03-2012 11:35 AM

Nothing too complicated really. This week it's installing my lca's, but it will be mostly any future mods I want to make & can't do myself. Unfortunately I lost the only family member that had the tools & knowledge to help me so I'm stuck going to a shop.

Where's CT Axle?

kjeeper10 03-03-2012 11:36 AM

What's up?

Me and Gluestick were talking last night.

We up for wrenching :)

LCA's are super easy.... 1/2 hour.

You see my most recent post?

MikalCarbine 03-03-2012 11:42 AM

Ya LCAs are pie, I have a garage and most of the tools you'd ever need. I'm in Bloomfield and I'm more than willing to help you out and teach you

Sueby 03-03-2012 11:51 AM

Oh my God you guys are so awesome! I can't believe you'd all offer to help, that is so cool! :thumb:

kjeeper10 03-03-2012 12:06 PM

Same here .... Let us/me know.

I sent a pm to Glue. He's got the garage and his/my tools.

Depending on what needs to be down also.

For LCA 's , basic socket set/breaker bar/opened-box wrench, and torque wrench.
And some muscle for 125 ft lbs :D

Also have you looked into the F911 bolt upgrade kit for LCA's TB's?

Safe assurance for DW

I just realized how close you guys are, we should all meet up, talk jeep, wrench, etc whether it's at gluestick's garage or mine. Anyone free tomorrow??

Haha

Ya .... Glue is a family man. So

I have no plans 2mrw :D

Sueby 03-03-2012 12:53 PM

I'm in awe of how awesome you guys are! :flowers: I'm waiting on a call from the ex who is a mechanic & happens to owe me a favor. Always gotta wonder if I'll end up regretting going there.

I did have the bolts on order but cancelled them in a moment of panic. I was just picturing the 'oh you dumb girl' attitude I'd get when trying to explain it to the dealer so I panicked and cancelled them! Lol

Maybe I'll have the ex do the lca's for now, re-order the bolts & the ace rock sliders I want, find out what you guys like to eat & drink, cook up a bunch of it and take you up on your offer. ;)

Jeep people rock. :D

As Ken offered, we are willing to help out a fellow Jeeper. We have most of the tools and just fake the knowledge part, most importantly we aren't afraid to uses torches and sawzalls to get things right :thumb:.

Seriously, though, we have done a few lifts and are relatively handy with most general mods. And we work for pizza! Shoot KJeeper or myself a PM if you are looking for a hand. Only downside is my wife works nights, so I do the daddy daycare thing, meaning I usually can't play until they go down around 8 pm. If you have a bigger job, we can do a whole day Saturday or Sunday.

edit: Just read the posts that came up as I was typing, MikalCarbine you are certainly welcome as well. With three or four pairs of hands we can screw stuff up, figure it out, and then fix it all again that much faster!

Y'all with your new fangled JKs... I don't have any inside room, but a nice big driveway and plenty of tools for working on stuff when the weather gets warmer!
