2012 Sport Radio update

Hello everyone, again. This time my question is about upgrading the radio in the jeep. I am in California, and it's well worth the cost of a radio that has bluetooth on it due to the cost of the ticket for driving while talking on the phone. Does anyone know where to get a wiring harness for it? The guy at Best Buy told me he could probably find one, but it would probably cost around $180, plus the cost of the radio and install, and if I can avoid that, I gladly will. Thanks for the help, again, and again so soon.:punk:

Try crutchfield.com - they got everything.

Exactly what type of radio are you trying to upgrade? Are you trying to upgrade the factory to accept BT with some sort of addon module for the Jeep or a "T" style harness used to install Motorola and Parrot BT modules?

All the Jeep radios now can do Bluetooth and IPod integration. Some require additional modules, cables, and possibly a dealer flash. As ask earlier, what radio do you have. 3 letter code on the bottom right of the radio. Right under the aux jack.

The radio is RES. I'm have no issues with the stock radio except blue tooth, its a must have. if I can get that on it, no complaints. I didn't know I could add it tho, which is why I planned on changing it.

It is an available option. I just test drove a '12 with RES with BT and IPod integration.

Also very interested.
Did not see it as available on stock radio when ordering, can it be added????

The dealing is adding U-connect to my JKU sport once it comes in. Fyi, for what it's worth.

Did it myself on my Commander, simple enough. The dealer will have to do the flash once installed though.

Tecnodummy here.
What has to be installed, a box, attachment???
Then the dealer has to flash what?

Thanks for your patience

Sorry for the late reply, the uconnect module is a separate piece that plugs into the back of the radio. The mic and iPod cable then connect to the module. Once installed your vehicle has to be "told" (the computer flash) it now has the option so it will work.

I got the module from justforjeeps and they have installation instructions posted if you want to see what's involved.
