Unless there's aftermarket stuff added, I don't know where the $10,000+ profit is coming from

MTH 03-05-2012 05:31 PM

It doesn't detail it on the website, but I can see that it's got AEV front and rear bumpers, a winch, AEV Pintler wheels, and what look to be at least 35s with 3" or more of lift. At a dealer, that'll run up $10k+ easily. Take a look at the third AEV package offered here for $14k--indeed, that may be the package it has, as it looks like it's got the AEV decal over the windshield.

Telll that dealer he is theif

Not that I am a fan of leather (did not order it nor want it on my JK), for $50K+ I would expect it to have the leather package. It's got an aftermarket bumper and a few other things but I have a feeling there is lots of dealer profit ($$$) built in.

AEV hood, too. So plenty of other factors there in the actual price. Looks like they are running it at MSRP as well as the add-ons.

Again folks, if it's got the JK231R package--which it appears to--that package is $14k straight from AEV. It could be some shady dealer making it look like the 231R, but assuming not then that is right about where you'd expect the sticker to be. AEV's stuff is very "spendy."

I got as far as this: Delete Sunrider Soft Top

Not even worth the sticker price, IMO. :)

Hey! I didn't get a soft top :(

Looks like it's decked out by AEV as MTH said.

You can see a list of their certified dealers here:

Probably a lot of dealer profit in that.

The JK231 makes it a "Enhanced Call of Duty " for the enhanced price of $ 56 K ?

Oh, I didn't say it was actually WORTH it, just that I was pretty sure where the extra $16k or so was coming from.

Of course, if folks don't "need" the AEV branding/products, you can do far better in terms of price point looking elsewhere. I can say for certain that if I had $60k to spend on a new JKU, this wouldn't be how I did it.

Dealers are doing all types of crazy stuff in jersey I dont think a stock jeep has come out of the place where I bought mine they have a JK8 that the sticker says 38,565 and they are selling it for 72,000 with all the work that had to be done to it

Call of Duty:

It is hard, but that's not a "stock" Call of Duty. It appears to have the "real" AEV hood and it clearly has bigger tires, AEV wheels, and a lift, none of which (I believe) come stock on the Call of Duty. Other things jump out too--such as the lighting on the bumper. And my recollection is that the Call of Duty uses a "scaled down" version of that AEV bumper, though it looks like this one is identical to the AEV outfitted one posted previously.

This is the "real" jeep Call of Duty edition. Among other things, note that the bumper is different, as are the wheels, tires, and hood.

In any event, what you're dealing with here is the confusion that arises when potential customers have (a) various stock "special editions" to choose from, AND (b) an affiliated aftermarket company such as AEV providing a number of "enhanced" quasi-stock vehicles, AND (c) dealerships themselves making an untold number of their own modifications and/or "special editions," like the "Bigfoot Edition" at my local dealer.

The result--particularly when looking at write ups online or just speaking to sales folks who really have no clue--is that it can be very confusing what vehicles are coming with what options, enchancements, etc. You need to look at build sheets and window stickers to really get anywhere.
