Know how to weld? Lol

Oh... Video or it didn't happen :D

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 07:55 PM

i know how to weld.. but i dont think my welder will be good enough to weld on the bracket to the axel

OH9JK 03-07-2012 07:58 PM

How did this happen??

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 08:00 PM

a giant fence and shrub?

honestly.. i passed out at the wheel ( for unknown reasons doctors looking into it)

but i was in my neighborhood headed home from dinner with my girl, and i passed out, ended up hitting a mail box, dodging a house, and a giant pine tree, running over a pompas plant and destroying someones fence

i guess i was really wanting to take off roading to the next level..

Aww that warranty love on that one.

I would find a reputable welder and have them do it. Cheaper then filing insurance claim I would imagine.

Casotakar1229 03-07-2012 08:07 PM

dang, at least you're okay!

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 08:09 PM

yeah everyone is ok.. just woke up not knowing what the hell happened..

OH9JK 03-07-2012 08:12 PM

Oh wow!

Glad everyone is OK for sure. Glad that didn't happen to you flying down I-26 at 70 MPH

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 08:15 PM

yeah would have been very bad...

i wonder if a 4x4 shop can take care of it..

wanderlust 03-07-2012 08:18 PM

good excuse to go long arm? :whistling:

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 08:21 PM

i am thinking about it.. i might just go ahead and get all adjustables, replace my shock, but i really need someone to weld the bracket on it.. my welder wont do it very well..

c0d3x5 03-07-2012 08:30 PM

anyone got an idea? :(

Any shop should be able to weld for you.
I think you can buy new/stronger brackets.
Positive on TB's not sure CA's

And glad you are ok :)

SilverBolt 03-07-2012 08:44 PM

I wouldn't have a dealer do it. Find a good local offroad shop.

Sueby 03-07-2012 08:56 PM

Yikes! Thats scary. Glad everyone's ok.

I bet they could weld it on for you. That seems like a standard thing they should do

Up Hill Bill 03-07-2012 11:38 PM

Just make sure whoever you have do it is a certified welder and you'll be OK. Steering components aren't something you want just any shade-tree mechanic doing. I think I'd take it to a few body shops and get estimates. Do you have insurance? This may be one you want to report and have done above board.

And, glad you and yours are OK. Scarey!

Frenz 03-08-2012 12:25 AM

seizures suck.. in PA you lose your lisc for 6 mos. and the Dr. has to approve your ability to drive. Good luck.. and yeah.. that's a body shop job.

c0d3x5 03-08-2012 09:12 AM

im afraid to take it to insurance,, because i kinda need my license

Kill people

Oh and body shop repair

c0d3x5 03-08-2012 12:04 PM

completely understandable.. but at the same time.. its a dog eat dog world, sometimes gotta look out for my self to,, and that means not losing my job cause i drive at my job, losing more stuff.. so either way someones going to be hurt

and for a one time passing out in my life.. i doubt i will lose anything, but i want to know why i did..

and honestly that same comment could go to people TXTING while DRIVING!!
