Hi! New member w/ new JKRU
Hello Everyone,
First of all, please allow me to thank everyone on this forum and your contribution to the threads which I've read hundreds before deciding on a '12 JKUR. I've been wanting a Wrangler for decades, but had to "settle" for a Cherokee and then a Grand Cherokee in the past due to the need of having a vehicle not to hard to get in for an handicapped family member (now I have another car for her), my situation finally allowed me to go out and get THE Jeep that I really wanted. I've been wanting the Cosmo Blue ever since I laid eyes on one last year but when I started shopping seriously for one this past month, there were hardly any around as production on this color stopped last Nov. 21 (also my birthday, hehe). But with the help of the Internet and after visiting dealers from as far as 50 miles away, I found out my local dealer (2 miles away) had one in stock. I was going to get a Sport and then mod it but since this color was so difficult to find, I didn't want to pass up this Rubi. The 0% financing also helped me make up my mind to pull the trigger NOW.
I'm planning on installing the Lockpick and Sliders w/ steps but my questions are...
1. Where is the easiest place to wire the Lockpick up to for switched and constant 12V power?
2. Since the Rubicon already comes with sliders, which aftermarket sliders/steps would compliment the factory setup the best or should I just junk (or sell) the OEM sliders and get something new all together?
Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly here's a picture of my Rubi in blue...

Welcome to the forum. Good looking ride you have there.
I can't help you with problem no.1
Problem no. 2-- Ace rock rails seem to be what most on here seem to like best for fitting with your factory sliders. Some one else will probably chime in here and offer some more advice.

Good looking ride, I just picked my new one up yesterday too! I have the same dilemna with steps, gotta have something to get the better half in and out...thinking maybe the powerboards?

Congrats, we dont have our Rubi yet but have already decided on ACE rock rails. They seem to have it all, protection, side step, strong, value.

Nice Rubi!!

As others have said, ACE rock rails. They'll work in conjunction with your sliders, and look awesome.

ACE rock rails

ACE sliders on, but.... a few problems...

I know less than nothing about the lockpick...somebody will probably chime in, though.

Congrats on the new Jeep! :thumb:

The Jeep looks great! :thumb:

And thanks for asking a question I needed answered also.

My JKR should be delivered in about two weeks and I want to keep the factory rubi rails and add the ACE sliders.

The Lockpick arrived and it turned out needing only to have the factory wiring harness plug into it for it to get power, the install is quite easy. So far I have an old Homelink mirror from another car installed, in the process of installing the front and rear cameras.

Who has the best price on the Ace Rock Rails?
