San Diego

Can anyone tell me where and what there is to do in a jeep in the San Diego area on a weekday?

A Good Day Trip in your area would be over the Mountain to Anza Borrego area.
Even better if you have a weekend, or a whole Week. The area is eminence with
Trails and fantastic Views and Vistas.
Areas that would have you believe you are on a different Planet.

Or you could always do the good old Stand by and stop in Julian for Apple Pie,(see link)

Octatilla Wells could be a one day trip. Did it, left early AM hit trails and sites and made it back early evening.

All so known as ANZA BOREGO, but I all so thought it would be a good
location for a Day Trip from Diego. And couldn't understand why HIS Friends
said it was TOO FAR.
But maybe they have early Dinners or something like Driving real slow
could be their reasoning.
But it's all good, I gave him another choice he feels would be better.
So the Balls in his Park on that one.

My friends just dont get it at all. But they dont have jeeps either. Didnt get to do either trip but we did have some fun in Otay valley. His friend has a construction yard there and let us thru the back gate.

Sorry you missed out, but I guess there's always Next Year, lol. :whistling:

if your in south sandeigo theres a bunch of cool sidetrails off the otay mountian truck trail, and some good trails down by the prision/gunrange area at the end of the 125. I went acouple times a week before i had to say byebye to my jeep

Muddy Bob 03-19-2012 12:16 AM

I went under the 125 deep into the valley. It was cool enough. I've left San Diego on my journey to Co. Found some really cool trails and more between Barstow and Ft. Irwin, where I'm staying with friends. Loads of off roading out there.

Muddy Bob 03-19-2012 12:17 AM

Oh yea, at one point we were behind a prison in Otay, Dan Diego. Probably the one you spoke of.

My weekend in Calico, Ca.

What trail is that in the bottom photo? Mule Canyon by any chance?

Muddy Bob 03-20-2012 01:05 AM

Its in the Calico Mts. Between Barstow and Ft. Irwin (Ca.). I'm not familiar with the area. A friend showed me the way. Just past "ghost town" and an old (functioning?) fire dept.
