Door accessory so that my door dont open wide

well im having this problem with my jeep. I know its normal because there is no stopper to the door of the jeep. Because some people riding my car does not know that the jeep when the door is open does not have a stopper especially kids. their instinct is to just open and hop out of the car. Im really worried that my doors might hit the other cars beside me in the parking lot. So im wondering is there an accessory to buy to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance guys!!! :D

There are a couple types available from Quadratec. I've been eyeballing a set as well.

zagu 03-12-2012 12:27 PM

what do you call those accessories sir? Thanks! :D

Armadillo has some, but just for the front doors. Starfab have front & rear, but require modification to install.

hmm? just get a short string and DIY.

hahahahaah short strings would be nice haha :P

Will check the door stops... i prefer the one where there wont be much modifications. Easy to install would be a very big plus also :D

Just take the doors off, problem solved. :D

zagu 03-12-2012 01:21 PM

i saw the star fab door stops... kinda scary because you need to drill some parts of your car. (simple as it may seem but still scary) im thinking about the armadillo one but it only got for the front... dang!

On the front doors, not sure about the JKU back doors.

Well an option you can try out (if the straps are installed similar on JKs)that I have done on my TJ is...give the limit strap a couple twists then reattach it. This won't let the door swing out as far.

Yup, all 4 doors on a JKU.

Big fat zip ties! Adjustable and easily replaced if the door if thrown open hard enough to break one.

Hey Jimbo, how do you like your Armadillo door stops? I've been eyeing some myself and I'm wondering if they're a quality product.

Thanks!

Why not just put a couple twists on the stock straps?

Aeschylus 08-30-2013 01:28 PM

I have the Star Fabrication Door Stops on my Jeep. Yeah, you have to drill into the door panel, and I am not keen on doing that, but I would definitely put these things on any future Jeep I owned ... especially if you live / park on a hill or are routinely moving boxes or other things (infant car seat?) in and out of the Jeep.

Iron Clad Lou 08-30-2013 02:52 PM

are the Star stop for all 4 doors?

n/m...I read the page and there is a 4 door option!

The armadillo stops not only stop the door from opening all the way, it gives them fixed distinct door positions like normal car doors. That's the reason I want them

Amazon - type in rugged ride limit straps 10 bucks for a pair. Or make your own out of paracord
