Stereo Questions!!

Ok, to be more accurate, subwoofer questions.

Ive been searching around the net, and my questions still remain unanswered :banghead:, so i decided to turn to my friends on wranglerforum.

Im looking at the Pyle PLMRBS8 compact marine sub to mount under my rear seat, because i cant stand my current lack of bass. Does anyone have a write up on how to install this thing? i have an Alpine CDE-121 head unit. also, can that head unit support this 800 watt sub? thanks :thumb:

Thats a pretty damn good step by step on how to accomplish what you are looking to do.

Also, its not the head unit that needs to support the sub, its the amp.

I understand, but im looking for the easier and less expensive route of the powered sub mounted on the ground just under the rear seat

I never bought into the whole "marine grade" electronics for Jeeps. I have had my system since 2005, no issues. If you looking for bass that is not obnoxious, I just helped my buddy install this under his rear seat in his TJ. It installs very easy, only need to buy RCA cables. Sounds great. Subwoofer with built in amp.

I had one similar to that. I mounted it on my tail gate. Worked great. Fit perfectly inside my insta-trunk.

Edit. I did a quick ebay search on the sub I had. It's where I go the idea.

I installed a 12" shallow mount Rockford sub in my rear seat. It really wasn't all that difficult. Once I took apart the seat and got a visual, everything came together quite well. I'm very satisfied with the result. If your handy with tools, I think you should be able to pull it off.
