Hey, im currently running my 38's as my daily driver and they are not balenced cause i can find anyone that will balance them. So i have a bit of shimmy around 45, i actually can go above that speed cause it will get worse. Its not full blown death wobble, but just driving with a constant wobble. I have the 38's mounted on an 8 inch rim wide. I have my 12 inch wide eagle alloys mounted on my old xterrains and planing to put the swampers those rims to widen the tire a bit. Do you think it would help a little with the wobble with more rubber touching the ground?

you have steelies now? Maybe they are out of balance again especially with them huge boggers on there? Have you tried swapping the front and the rears or are your axles different bolt patterns?

They are out of balance because they have not been balanced. Tire shops dont like it when they see more than 16 ounces of weight need to balance one side of a tire. So they just say the tires can not be balanced.

Do you have an old set of 35's or something? Maybe you could use a smaller set of tires that can be balanced for on road driving and use the 38's strictly for off road use...with unbalanced tires you're going to start wearing down those 38's pretty fast so even buying a used set of 35's for on road driving will probably save you money

I used to be in the tire biz... They can be balanced It will take a well trained tire tech to do this. first you have to find a sweet spot were the tire and rim match up good. What I used to do is mount the tire air it up, put it on the balancer if it asked for alot of weight I would dismount it then rotate it 180 on the rim try again then try try again. untill I got it to the lowest weight possible then balance it.

The main problem is the size of tire. They suck to balance but like I said it can be done!!
