One week and two days...

...and my front bumper was hit and no note was left and no cars that I searched were at height level to do the damage. not pissed, just a reminder I need a new bumper that will take less impact and deal more damage when/if this ever occurs again. Ugh, the nerve of people. :nonono:

About the size of a softball.

Sucks, but a heat gun and some massaging from the back should fix that up.

Casotakar1229 03-13-2012 04:22 PM

Yea, I'll have to look up how to take apart the bumper to pop it out from behind.

ESP 03-13-2012 04:37 PM

Cut it off and put a stubby kit on.

Prolly a fellow member close by that wouldnt mind assisting. Could always hit up your local Harbour Freight for cheap tools.

Thorshammer7 03-13-2012 05:06 PM

Check your local forum and I bet someone will hook you up. If you were close I would do it for ya. I would use this as a reason to modify or upgrade though.

I usually post in the Texas forum area, but so far I have no hits on anyone wanted to help change out my stock bolts lol. Maybe I should post on this main board. Not many hits over there...thanks for the generosity though. And yes, I might get the smittybilt bumper. looks like it's only $399 and pretty sturdy.

Man, that chaps my ass. :nonono:

Good excuse for a new bumper, though. Or the stubby mod ESP mentioned, if you can get hold of a sawzall. :thumb:

If you're in the Texarkana area (which I know you're probably not) I'd be happy as could be to give you a hand with both changing out the stock bolts and doing a stubby mod. I can get the sawzall to do the job no problem.

yea, I was upset at first then I quickly realized I still have a my jeep. haha, I was just thinking "fix it," but everyone seems to suggest "excuse for new bumper." must be the jeep way of thinking...I could get used to that. :D

You can always just heat it up and fix it...the front bumper literally takes all of about 10 minutes to remove. And that's if you sip a cold one in between bolt removal. :)

It's a shame people have no courtesy anymore. If you hit someone's car/truck, you should leave a note or wait for them to come back. Folks only look out for number one today. Hope you are able to pop it back out!

Or at least a check for $59 to buy stubby's :)

It amazes me how flimsy the Wrangler bumper is. My neighbor backed her Camry into the rear bumper of my Liberty several years ago, crumpled her trunk lid and shoved her bumper in about a foot. All it did was crease the plastic on my Liberty.

Good memories. :)

I'll definitely pop it out for now. looks like it bent in pretty well and the grey plastic is now white where it creased. :/

Indeed. I'd feel like a low-life skipping out on someone.
