Question about the Law...
 
I hear a lot of talk about Jeep owners worrying about the tire sticking too far out from the Fender... Does anyone know what the Law is here in Arkansas or has anyone had issues with it?

I've seen a lot of people in my area that don't have fender flares and are sticking out a few inches. Doesn't seem to be a problem though. I think Arkansas is pretty lax when it comes to jeeps. Bet it would be a problem if the tires were 40's or something like that and nothing covering them.

Call or go to your state inspection station and ask.

Go to any donut shop and ask a cop.:rofl: Seriously many of them drive Jeeps.

Several of my good friends are Arkansas State Troopers - I have emailed them this question.

As per my buddy with the Arkansas State Police : "There are no laws regarding tire width, my man! At least not in Arkansas. The wider the the better!"

The only real thing AR concerns itself with is headlight height. Other than that, they dont care what you run lift or tires wise.

Not from AR I presume or you would know there hasn't been state vehicle inspection stations here for several years.

I'd say you probably wouldn't get stopped in AR unless it appeared your tires were making it difficult to control your vehicle or if it appeared your vehicle was over maximum width, which I believe is 8 feet. Of course that doesn't mean some city or county law enforcement might pull you over just to discuss your tire size and suggest you might be illegal and need to come to court to find out.....
