Lifetime jeeper, but new to yj's. Some common questions...

Hey guys. I'm taking the plunge on a '94 yj. Always had CJ's so I hope I'm not walking the plank.

A 2.5 YJ just fell outta the sky for me. Guy needs some fast cash. Jeep looks really good, runs good too. Stock (but brand new) tires. Soft and hard top.

Questions: Does a 4cyl 2.5 have enough power to do some easy ro moderate trailing?

A friend has a '95, his tranny went bad (ax-5) and he seemed to have a HARD time finding a fresh one. Are these ax-5's problem prone? Are they hard to find?

Also, what kind and where is a cheap, affordable 2.5" lift? Susp or body.

Thanks guys.

I dont have a 2.5... but from what I hear they can handle a good amount of trailing as long as it's in 4 low. as far As your lift.. Here you go

Jeep YJ Suspension Lift Kits

I have to 4" lift and I love it. Idk why you would want a 2.5" when you could get a 4" for the same price??

They are ok, not stellar but ok....the trannys are difficult to find in good shape, and will bring 500-700 used.
