Trails in Colorado

A buddy and myself will be jeepin it to Colorado in June. Since i live in Kansas, I don't know the trails up there. I'd like to know is there any easy to moderate trails on the East side of the rockies with in a couple hours of Denver? This will be my first time wheelin so I'd like to go easy. Of course I'm sure I'll love it. Specs on the TJ. 99, auto (yuk), dana 30/35, 2" bb, 32x11.5 at's and rancho shocks. She's not set up for serious wheelin but someday. Ive looked on line but not seeing anything without becoming a member or subscribing. Any info would be much appreciated. :zap:

Think that would be fun. Looks like the week of June 18. Prob head up on Sunday, stay the night in Arvada with family and head out Monday. Maybe find somewhere to camp. All just in planning stages right now.

If you are going up from Arvada I would suggest camping outside of Nedreland somewhere. Maybe Forth Of July Campground or somewhere like that. the wild flowers should be in full bloom right about then and there is some great scenery with the flowers covering the mountainside and the Indian Peaks Wilderness area in the background. Peirson Park road...Johnny Park road...Caribou Townsite...Pole Hill ...Rollins Pass...Rocky Mountain State Park...+ more are within a half hour from there. I love it up there and it's only a little more than 1 hour from Arvada.
plus there are some great hiking trails that take you into gorgeous lakeside views that leave out of the camping area.
Enjoy your trip...

Sounds amazing. I'm getting some real good feedback. Hope to be able to check that one out. Now I can't wait for June to get here.
