Flip and Fold Seats with Underseat Security Container

Alright here is the scenario; 2011 JK with driver flip and fold seat (like passenger), this seat has a bar running across (left to right or right to left for some) which prevents installation of an under seat security container without cutting or use of spacers.

Question: Would it not be possible to remove the seat completely, separate the "seat" from the base and replace the base with a non-flip and fold base thus alleviating the bar issue.

Sure would beat cutting the bar or placing washers to raise the seat IMHO.

Cheers all

Seems like a lotta work to install an underseat box. Why not just rock a shoulder holster? :)

:whistling: Modify the SEAT ??

Right is right and armed is righteous

Gotta say being a East Texas piney woods raised boy who spent 31 years in the military I do believe in not only having the right but the capability of self protection. That being said I do need a place to lock up the pistol when going in the liquor store or the garage door opener when running into Lowes.

BTW: Call me old fashioned but my preferred pistol is a Colt 1911 .45 ACP and shotgun is 12 gauge pump with buckshot.

I hear ya.

If not one of the under seat boxes (which really are nice...I've got the one), check out some of the options on Tuffy's site.

There's all sorts of locking compartments/conversions for the JK.

Here's a link: Tuffy Security Products
