Newbie need advice on suspension and steering

Ok so I bought my 2003 TJ 2 months ago. The previous owner had bought it from the dealer with a 3in rubicon express lift (not sure but that's what he claimed) and 305/70R16 MT Baja Claw tires. The jeep has 55xxx miles and recently I found out while doing 55mph on a bad NY highway section why death wobble is death wobble lol... I got scared and confused to why it was happening having never experienced such thing. Since then I been driving my jeep scared of bumps above 50mph as I started getting the wobble more frequently. I been reading alot on it in the forum and online became familiar with the terms and what need be checked but since I have no garage and tools to do all the work myself I'm bounded to go to the mechanic, which I did yesterday and explained him that it had death wobble, steering felt loose etc. After he checked it said that I need new tires. Tires have about 50% tread left on them and I don't wanna jump the gun and but $1300 worth of 4 tires and still have death wobble. Does the tires really cause all this?? He said the suspension was tight and nice! Why does the steering feel loose? If I have to buy new tires I will but I wanna make sure there is no other issues with the suspension before I do. What are you're thoughts? What should I do first?? I love my jeep and I couldn't wait for the summer to get here now this death wobble thing is ruining my mood. I will take pictures of my front end and post soon too. Sorry for the long book I wrote here but I don't know what to do, your advice will be much appreciated. Thank you

i tell you it did it to me because of my allignment... BAD DEATH WOBBLE felt like i was loosing my tires, they also replaced my steering stabilizer.. fixed it now no problems..

i have herd of mud even causing death wobble.. you loose a tire weight it can cause it. a warped rim or even a bubble in the tire

Tires can absolutly cause problems.. start cheap and work your way up

Thanks jeeplover1 I def need an alignment but being hesitant to check if any other parts need changing before I do it.

And as for the mud on tires I haven't done any trails yet so no mud or anything like that. I'll balance all 4 wheels tomorrow thou. Thanks for the input :)
