According to Allpar.com, the Wrangler will remain unchanged for 2013.

2013 Chrysler and Jeep: what we know, what we predict

Did see some nasty looking lesser Jeeps tho, and a possible remake of the Wagoneer.

It's the Grand Cherokee that's getting the diesel.

snwchris 03-19-2012 11:36 AM

I believe that there is already a version or option to get teh CRD diesel in the Grand Cherokee.

I wish they would take that same CRD from the Libby or Grand and just put it in the Wrangler already....

monstermx37 03-19-2012 03:43 PM

You can, I believe its a 2.8l. But I agree, why not give it as an option for wranglers? I dont see the big deal.

When I picked up my wrangler, talking to the fleet sales guy. He said that it is a patent issue that Daimler owns and isn't releasing it. Just what I was told.

That hasn't been an option in several years. The last year of the 2.8 was 05 or 06.

I would assume some where between $3-5000 more than the current sticker price just for the diesel.

I'm basing this off the cost of the cummins for the ram which is almost $7000. so I'm assuming about 2/3 the size about 2/3 the price, but it doesn't always work that way.

And with all the new gov regs, it will probably require urea...

Hmm slightly more than I figured. I had heard before that the diesel option in Europe was like 5k so I was thinking like 31k for a fairly base 4-door with diesel option. I hope its not 35k. I have already started my down payment fund on the diesel version and if its that much I guess Ill have to save more, or use the money to convert mine.

Does anyone have a jeep contact for ordering non US parts. I have a RA 428 engine out of 2009 wrangler but need the wiring harness and ECU.
