Either way, I know you guys have some awesome trails here and I wanted to see if anyone wanted to meet up and some point this week and go for a drive. Show us some of these amazing CO trails I've heard about.

A little far north of me I'm in Colorado springs. Let me know if you come down south.

Oldguy 03-18-2012 11:26 PM

Yes, please post, and include your preferred trail level. Being retired I am free during the week. I am sure I can come up with something to amuse you :rofl:

Awesome! As far as trails go, just nothing too crazy. It is my daily, and its pretty much a mall crawler. I have 33 AT's, a small winch, a 4 in lift and quick discos, but thats it. Im just looking for some great scenery with some good photo ops.

Just messin Ed :) :hide:

I'm not to far from you but you really didnt pick a great time of year for trails here. most of them are closed untill after mud season. there is a few don south by the springs and a couple up north but all the real good ones won't open up till late april may and june. I'm sure Ed (oldguy) can show you some pretty good stuff this week if you want to make the trek down there.

Hmm, well I might have to swing through in the summer too then. How far south would I have to go?

Justin04Lj 03-19-2012 01:03 PM

Colorado springs is 60 miles south of Denver.

I 2nd that!

BOXERatHEART 03-20-2012 07:54 PM

Lmao, well I brought my uncle in his truck, but he bailed even before the fork lol. The trail was really nice and we got some amazing pics, but i think were all trailed out since nearly slid off when i found a solid sheet of ice lol. It got real, real fast

Colo-TJ 03-20-2012 08:03 PM

Glad you had fun. did you make the full loop?

BOXERatHEART 03-22-2012 08:04 PM

We didnt make a full loop, I think we actually took a wrong turn lol. Not the first fork, but the 2nd one we went straight up some narly trail and ended up on a huge patch of ice. That was the point when it got serious lol. I actually ended up getting her turned on the trail by locking the rear tires in some dirt while the fronts were on the ice, and spun them enough that the front end swung around and faced down the trial. If I wasnt so busy trying to keep the Jeep from going over the edge I would have asked for a video lol. Alls well that ends well.
