Damn Deer

Hit a deer on the way home from work! Broken pass side turn signal, fog light, & bent fender. I think I can straighten the fender, going the have to find the lights. Damn I'm pissed.

Don't bother, just get a better front bumper with welded on guards. Friend of mine got a nice buck at about 60 in his TJ, ARB front bumper and warn 9000i winch. Had to unspool the cable and clean it out but that was about it.

Would be a nice time to buy a nice bumper. PICS!!!!;)

i feel that...i've hit 2 deer, 2 years in a row. The first one was with my old ZJ and the second was with my old pathfinder...luckly none with the tj yet (knock on wood)

I hit the first one doing about 40 mph, i nailed it in the front shoulder first, then the impact made it spin sideways in the air and its ass hit my passenger side door and the rear door right behind it..,The doors were totaled and wouldnt open and the glass was shattered. Had to replace both of them. Luckly i had brush guards on the front of that zj and they saved my front end and hood from any damage besides for a broken light.

Te second one actualy ran into me believe it or not. I saw it run, swore at it as i saw it run, stomped of the brakes, and it ran into my driver door. The deer then proceeded to get up, run about 15 feet and then it stared at me, probably laughing its ass off in its own deer like way as i got out of my pathfinder and started screaming my lungs out at it at 430am. The door was totaled but luckly my insurance covered the damage this time because after the first one i decided i should put collision on.

I see deer when im driving home almost every night around where i live. Had a close run in a few weeks ago in the tj where one ran out in front of me and i had to slam on the brakes, fishtailed violently and went off the road. Luckly no damage, just a little adrenaline rush lol.

Bottom line deer suck when you're in a vehicle and i feel your pain. But when deer season comes around, i'm lookin for revenge lol :D

I have had three bad encounters. First was one ran into my S10 passenger side, window was open and her head came inside and smacked me in the temple, dam deer puked on me, ruined my suit. Otherwise no damage, just stinky vomit the smelled like a brewery.
I hit one with my trooper at 10mph, knocked it over, I jumped out, looked at the passenger fender and got pissed, started kicking it in the ass smacking it with my 6 cell mag light while it was trying to get back up. Must have been a sight, people stopped and were laughing, guess you don't see people in three piece suits kicking deer in the butt and swearing at them, I only had the trooper 2 days....
Had another one run out in front of me and I was going about 60 in the XJ, knew I was going to hit it, then he tried changing direction and slipped, ran over him on my passenger side, almost flipped, seemed like forever I was up on two wheels, guess the rear locker spit him out cause he ended up on the hood and broke the nose and windshield of the cavalier that was tailgating me. Saw it a half hour later when I was going back home being winched up on a flatbed, it was totaled. The driver gave me the finger about a dozen times as I went by.

This was about 3:20am in Edmonson Co. Someone hit one in front of SCRTC I think it was in the driveway of the trailer place.

Since most of this dump is made of streets and cheap houses all the deer dont have any place to be but the parks and forest preserves so when you're driving on a road that cuts through a forest preserve, thats where all the deer are since there is no other place for them to be. So far i've stopped at least 7-8 times because a deer is in front of me and at least 4-5 times where another animal is on the street such as a raccoon or squirrel.

One of my friends hit a skunk with his Eclipse :D

Hell of an air re-freshener...

Around here they're are constantly deer roaming around late at night...actually i just saw 2 on my 5 minute drive home from my buddies tonight. I stay out late and drive home real late, usually about 2am, so they're everywhere at that hour...i see at least one every night im driving at that hour.

And you can stay right at the speed limit and one is still bound to leap out in front of you at some point. Hell my dad was driving up a dirt driveway doing about 5mph and a big buck jumped out in front of him and leaped right over the front of his chevy tahoe. You just never know with deer, sometimes it seems as if they enjoy putting themselves in extreme danger by running out in front of vehicles.

mmasuperman12 01-14-2008 01:38 AM

i tried to get 2 tonight they were standing in the driveway but couldnt get'em before they hopped the snowbanks in the driveway, ive only got 2 deer driving(no damage to the jeep) and about 20 squirrels and 1 cat felt bad about that though

MOOSE STORY
The above pictures are of a moose that went through a car's windshield and out the rear window this month near South River, Ontario.

The VERY lucky woman driver ended up with just a broken wrist and needing a good bath. When you view the pictures you will wonder how the woman managed to survive.
