Bilsteins on my stock TJ
1 Attachment(s)
I can't express how much i really need shocks on this jeep. The stock ones are pretty much dead at 81k miles and it rides HORRIBLY on any road that's not recently paved. I can't believe how nice the 4.5" lifted cherokee rides compared to this stock TJ.

But anyways, it needs shocks and I'm going with the best right off the bat. I'm not lifting this jeep, well, maybe 1" but not more than that. So I need Bilsteins that fit stock height. I can get regular Bilstein shocks, Bilstein HD shocks, or 5100's with some adjustments to fit.

I like how the 5100's ride on the cherokee (AWESOME) but that's a lifted rig so I don't know how they will perform on the TT (Tiny TJ). Is there a big difference between the 5100's and OEM replacement Bilstein shocks? If I go with OEM replacements, should I aim for HD or regular? I assume the 5100's are slightly firmer to compensate for the added height of a lifted vehicle. wants $315 shipped for four 5100's but I'm currently searching for better deals. They want about $250 shipped for the HD version.

I'd suggest Bilstein PN's 24-024426 (front) and 24-024433 (rear). Plenty of people have those and report good results.

Thanks for your reply. That's what I've been reading up on. They are a bit cheaper than the 5100's and could use that saved dough to replace the stabilizer since it's pretty much shot. Hmm....
