98 TJ - front speaker question - polk 4x6
I have a question about the dash speakers on the 98 TJ. After using the search function I see that most folks are going with 5-1/2" speakers with an adapter plate for upgrades. I also see that in the 98, mounting these 5-1/2" speakers involves cutting back something with a dremel to get this to fit.
I'm not really into cutting metal to replace a blown speaker. I'm figuring I'll get a pair of Polk 4x6 and some boom mats:

My question is what else do I need to have everything for installation?- do these speakers require some sort of adapter to install? I looked on amazon and did not see any for the 4x6 speakers. I guess I need some sort of plug to connect to the speakers to match the leads from the HU? Anyone able to recommend one?
Thanks in advance.
1) It is possible to find a plug and play kit for the wires for the speakers, or you could just cut them and splice them like i did.
2) You will need a mounting bracket for your new speakers, or you could do what I did and cut the old speakers out of the plate they come in, and screw the new speakers to the old plate. Basically the lip on the front speakers is almost 3" longer than a regular speakers lip, so if you just bought 4x6 speakers they won't come anywhere near the mounting location.
