Nice, thanks for passing on the deals!

Rpkittle 03-22-2012 06:33 PM

I have been seeing a lot of talk about this system. If its as good as they say, how could you go wrong with $51.98? Let me know what your thoughts are. My muffler is in need of a replacing as it rattles from the inside. I might just jump on this

Kevbz 03-22-2012 06:43 PM

The tailpipe alone cost more than that!

grnd93 03-22-2012 07:04 PM

Ordered...Thanks for the heads up!

I just bought this system... ordered on 13 March for $141.... .. I received it on the 16 March.... On THAT day... they were listed at $162.....I sent off for the $75 rebate ( takes 6-8 weeks... FYI) after rebate mine will be $66...

I love it and took 45 minutes to install.....if that..... GRAB IT AT THIS PRICE WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!

Here is my thread with install instructions and video...AND SOUND CLIP

Wow did that work out great. Was under the Jeep the other day and noticed a small hole forming in the muffler. Ordered.. Thanks for the tip, much appreciated.

B-Radley 03-22-2012 09:07 PM

Thanks for posting this. Great deal. Just ordered one.

Kevbz 03-22-2012 09:40 PM

i think to pass inspection last year I paid 72 for a muffler and had to have them salvage the tail pipe that was on there because it was another 120 for it. this alone is worth buying and putting away for the next time its needed.

grnd93 03-22-2012 09:42 PM

The million dollar question... Can I use my email confirmation from amazon as proof of purchase and get a jump on the rebate process?

Print out the confirmation email Amazon sends you when you order... then go into your account and print the invoice and send both.... I did.

HD Wrangler 03-22-2012 10:16 PM

Wow, seriously considering this.

O3jeep 03-22-2012 10:33 PM

It says this won't fit a 97? That sucks!! DJ

Kevbz 03-22-2012 10:34 PM

i looked and the 99 4 cyl is 134.00, a few bucks more but not bad

B-Radley 03-22-2012 10:39 PM

I found the same problem. They sell # 17345 that I bought for my '97. $134.37

s3nt3nc3d 03-22-2012 10:46 PM

I have this setup...it's a little quiet so if you're looking for a good rumble, look elsewhere, but if you just want something a LITTLE throatier than stock, it's a good buy. Definitely worth the money though, especially if your exhaust system is falling apart.

Only recommendation I have...buy new nuts to fit the studs on the new setup. For some reason they don't include them and your original ones may be pretty chewed up, especially if you live in the rust belt.

cadenas 03-22-2012 10:53 PM

So does this fit a 1998 4 cylinder. Thanks in advance

Rumble is in the ear of the beholder! Mine is a bit louder than I expected and the guy that installed it said my old rotted out muffler was quieter! No regrets but I've passed the 4-0 mark so I probably don't appreciate it as I would have a decade ago. But I bought mine last year with the same rebate and I think I only paid 60 bucks for it too so you cannot beat it for the price!

Thanks forthe heads up....Ordered:)

My wife is getting tired of seeing all the empty amazon boxes lol

FYI....

Before you get discouraged... please check the link and READ THE REBATE! There are SEVERAL part numbers that fall into the rebate category!

nmtj 03-22-2012 11:43 PM

Wow, was just wondering what my first first mod was going to be! Its crazy how much exhaust system pricing changes from car to car.

Ordered! I have prime too so I get two day shipping!

alice the cat 03-23-2012 01:02 AM

Thank you for the heads up on this one. I just ordered mine pt#17345 for my 99. I have spent more on a single exhaust tip than this whole whole cat-back. Great find.

jasonjjv 03-23-2012 01:32 AM

Awesome. Just ordered one. Thanks for the heads up.

lol...stick a Flowmaster 40 on it and tell me it's loud :D

I went from stock setup to the Dynomax setup...it's throatier, but just ever so slightly louder than my stock setup (which was working fine when I removed it).

Now my old truck...I put a Flowmaster 40 series on it...THAT was loud. I set off car alarms driving down the road at night. :hide:

I swapped the Flowmaster 40 out for a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler (same as we're discussing) right before I sold it...and when I started it the first time, I nearly tried to start it again thinking it stalled...and then I looked at the tach and realized it was idling. lmao

Dodge Dakota 3.9L Flowmaster 40 series - Inside Vehicle - YouTube

Excuse the fact that I took it up to an ungodly stupid speed...but that was recorded inside the cab with the windows UP.

Blackpony04 03-23-2012 09:06 AM

If I had a sound clip of the Borla Stingers on my old 2004 Mustang Mach 1 you'd think those Flowmasters were made by Fisher Price. My wife knew when I was coming home as she could hear me from a half a mile away and that was in a 25 MPH zone! I made Harley owners jealous. :thumb:

Harley riders and their stupid loud pipes... "Loud pipes save lifes" Get f'n real. no one hears that until you pass them and blow out their ear drum. Maybe if they didn't make these 60MPH top speed pieces of crap so loud, I'd respect the rider more. Personally I can't stand the stupid crap, and I bet when one passes by you full throttle going 12, it ticks you off too.

On the other side of the fence, that Dakota sounded really nice.

You'd be surprised how much loud pipes help, especially if the car behind you likes to get under your fender, one quick rev. to the limiter and he gets the hint.

I just read the rebate form and it specifically lists which part numbers are covered under the rebate. Neither the 19391 or 17345 are listed as "qualifying" part numbers.
