Help on purchase

So if I am looking at a Jeep with a MSRP of 28615 - what should i expect to pay. I did join tread lightly yesterday but it is my understanding I won't be able to use it for 30 days - I wanted to make the deal in the next week - already have financing in place at my credit union

Any active or retired military in your immediate family? If so, USAA car buying service can save you a ton of $$.

Otherwise, AT LEAST 1% below invoice would be good to shoot for.

Usaa

My dad was in the marines so i signed up for USAA - but the price they showed me was only like 27000 - not much of a discount - did i do something wrong with USAA?

Hmm...You're right. Seems like it should be better than that. Try calling them.

I bought mine last year, and at the time they had some kind of deal going on Jeeps. I'd heard it got extended, but not sure if it's still current or not. But I used their actual car buying service, so maybe check into that.

Another thing you can do is PM WF member pat@fieldsauto.com...he sells Jeeps in Chicago, and will give you the straight skinny on whether or not you can use your Tread Lightly discount early, the rock bottom price for what you're looking at, etc.

If I'd known about Pat before I ordered my Jeep, I would've bought through him. :thumb:

my local CostCo has a purchasing plan that was amazingly close to being nearly the best price 18 months ago when I was seriously shopping all sources....

They led me into contacts that proved to be no waiting and within a few $$ of the TreadLightly discount.

Ultimately they all fell through because I found an ever-so-slightly used private party model that fit my needs.

Don't get the quivers this close to the target.....a few days shouldn't cloud your judgement and choice....

I purchased in March using the TL discount less than 30 days after joining TL. My dealer said the 30 days did not matter - at least to them.
