TPMS and new tires

Put my new tires on from discount direct and they have tpms sensor in them. Do I have to sync them to the tpms or does it do it on its own. If I have to re sync them how do you do it? Thanks.

No there is nothing you can do to "sync" your TPMS. If your new tires are bigger or require a different cold PSI then it will set off the dreaded warning light on the dash. What size tire did you get?

Your TPS report err...TPMS is going to chime in each time you turn on your jeep now until you get an AEV Procal to modify your settings.

You should be running 30-32 PSI in those (dealers and tire shops routinely overinflate aftermarket tires)...probably gonna set off the light and chime.

AEV Procal will let you reset the sensors to a lower threshold, or disable em altogether.

Only thing to add is that there are two frequencies used for tpms ('08 and '09 share) and the '10-12 share the same freq. So you should be able to air those up to 36 psi or so and the light should go off after 20-30 minutes of driving. That way you know now that the correct sensors were installed. Then as Kbwwolf mentioned, air them down to the best psi and if the light comes on, you can buy a Procal (about $150) to change the threshold. Another member bought sensors and the dealer installed the wrong type - you want to know and have that corrected before the installer complains that they are 3 months old.
