How many renew their Sirius XM after their free year.

I am curious how many renew their Sirius XM radio after the free year trial runs out on their Jeep. Also why or why not?

Thanks.

Mike.

Yes, I plan on renewing, but not at the book rate. They like to barter and you can get it for much less than the $15/mo or whatever it is

snikt 03-23-2012 02:02 PM

I will for sure, I've had it for like 3-4 days and I love it

New2012JEEP 03-23-2012 02:02 PM

Not me, too much considering there is free stuff

^^^ This.

I plan to, also. Hardly ever listen to radio w/commercials anymore. Satellite or i-tunes is pretty much it for me.

One thing, Mike. Make sure your dealer has submitted your subscription. There was a thread on here shortly after I bought my Jeep from a member who'd had his Sirius cancelled after two months (something like that). He found out that the dealer hadn't started his subscription, and the "trial period" that the dealer gets for vehicles on the lot had run out.

Not sure what the resolution was for him, but Sirius can be a beast to deal with. I won't give em my cc #, either. Basically, I saved their e-mail with my acct # in it, and set up my computer calendar to notify me a month before my subscription comes due at the end of the year.

I've read about them charging customers' cc's even after they tried to cancel. I'd rather just deal with em from a position of absolute power, if that makes sense. :)

Jeeps have radios?

snikt 03-23-2012 02:12 PM

I've left it on channel 34 since I got it

DesertJK 03-23-2012 02:14 PM

Mine didnt have it when I bought it :( If it did I'd have it on "The Highway" 24/7

VASYLfromUKRAINE 03-23-2012 02:18 PM

$99 for 1 year + 3 months free

termite 03-23-2012 02:23 PM

I do not. Mostly because I do not like paying for it when I only listen to it about 10% of the time.

I also never get the right CS rep that lets me talk them down to a lower price. I believe that this has to do with karma, because I had a Mazda 6s for about three years and never paid for the Sirius. It was on when I bought the car new and it was on when I traded it in 3 years later.

Mopar2Ya 03-23-2012 02:29 PM

No, I'm cheap. lol

snikt 03-23-2012 02:34 PM

730N owners or maybe 430 too? Can you download songs from Sirius to the HDD somehow?

sunnykk 03-23-2012 02:39 PM

If you like siruis, this is what you need to do.

Cancel after first year

They will then send you promotions at a discounted price. The offer keeps getting better if you ignore it. The lowest they will come down to, is 50% off for one year subscription. That's when you sign up again.

Repeat the same process every year.:thumb:

I, in fact am going to be getting rid of the radio and losing about 9 months service, and not looking back.

I'm pretty sure you can't on the 430. If you can, it's not mentioned in the manual and I haven't figured out how to do it.

My HDD's got all it can handle with my i-tunes library, anyway.

Red Sahara 03-23-2012 02:45 PM

I cant live without it. Just talk to them, they will come down on price.

neekidoodle 03-23-2012 02:46 PM

They are too expensive, if you do, try to bargain with them. I did when I owned my Camaro:punk:

rics1997 03-23-2012 02:47 PM

I loved it while I had it but after I figured out I could get internet radio over my android and play through my bluetooth on my head unit, I didn't see why I should pay anymore. Especially after they way they added fees the first time and auto renewed me at a outrageous price, I don't like that kind of tactics. They tried to get me back with lower rates but free is much better.

Not sure how they stay in business myself with I-phones and Androids now

Much easier to get sat coverage vs 3G/data coverage on a cell phone

mnikc 03-23-2012 02:51 PM

hell yes, sat. radio has stations that plays the music i listen to - metal.

cant find that on fm radio - at least in ny

pandora - doesnt play clear from my phone through the aux jack - so thats out

marc10000 03-23-2012 03:05 PM

I already renewed. Best music selection ever. Leave all my music at home now.

Howard Stern is worth the $$ to me.

44Blues 03-23-2012 03:38 PM

They'll do anything to keep people....I had a billing issue with them and while it was eventually taken care of, it was a total pain in the ass....low ranks for CS from this customer. I eventually let it lapse. Then a year later they offered some big promo deal and I decided not to bite....I'll stick to CDs and my iPod.

moto-scoot 03-23-2012 03:56 PM

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD OOR BANK INFO!!!!!
you are signing up for automatic renewals when you do.
i had to cancel my card to get them out of my account.
they keep mailing me renewals now $25.00 for 6 months
still dont even want to deal with them now at any price.
do a google search on sirrus complaints you will se what i mean.
if you do renew send them a money order!
