Yea I called yesterday to reserve the cabin. It's already taken so I'll be staying at the holiday inn again.

swiber 03-26-2012 01:21 PM

Holiday inn sounds better than baking in a tent. And it would be safe place to keep the doors.

Yea that's what I thought too. And the front two panels.

swiber 03-26-2012 04:34 PM

I am going to have to call later today and check on prices for the rooms.

Depending on the weather I might leave my top at home and just bring the panels.

I know... It depends on my schedule though. I am in limbo at work for my days off.

Im going to put my soft top on for this event, Im hopeing the weather will be nice enough to put the top down and leave the doors in the hotel. Haha I can see it now us parked outside the hampton with one of those lugage dollys taking our doors off and then going through the loby and up to our rooms with them.

I will be sure to bring some wax so she can do a good job.

wickedyj95 03-27-2012 05:45 PM

I'm gonna try and make this trip !

Rb1boxer_3 04-08-2012 02:52 PM

Not gonna be able to make it jeeps having a few problems.

Chris M 04-08-2012 07:44 PM

One of these days I'm going to have to get in on this.

Do they have easy trails for slightly modded vehicles and "new" to Jeep off road drivers? I'm looking to do some stuff, but as my Jeep is also my DD I have to be careful with what I do. All the off road I really get to do is on dirt/muddy hunting roads on the way to our cabin...before we switch off and head out on four wheelers.

swiber 04-08-2012 09:53 PM

I did it with only bumper winch, and rock sliders. Did not need any of it. But armor on the underside I would say is a strong advisement to get. I have some dents that convinced me. I have some I am waiting to bolt on. They do have some very easy stuff. But the easy stuff is no fun.

WatchThis! 04-18-2012 09:33 PM

Okay folks it wont be long and it will be time for this event. I am 95% sure I will be able to make it.(as long as no major bugs show up in the new build) so Im going to sighn up online tomorow. Maby Ill run into a fellow WF member or two there.

WatchThis! 04-19-2012 07:00 PM

In the email I got today it said that you can only pay the 50 buck sighn up fee on line till the 21'st. After that its 85.

swiber 04-20-2012 12:39 PM

I might try to still make it. I keep getting behind on projects and Jeep projects.

Jeeps packed with tools and fluids, bags are packed. All thats left is to go to bed and get some rest before the 5 1/2 drive down there.

yes they do. All the trails are rated from 1-5. Plenty of trails out there for stock vehicles up to rock crawlers. Here's my video from out there. Mine is only 2.5 inch lift with 31s. My buddy just has 31s with a body lift. The images/video don't do the trails justice of what they are really like.

Well we drove down there with the top down and got a nasty sunburn on one arm. Then we had a few beers at Double Horn Brewing Company - Marble Falls, TX before calling it a night. Things were SLOW going at the event there were way more drivers then soldiers. To make matters worse we got bumped down from the red trails to the blue trails because of a roll cage rule. Then we sat in line for ever and our group left out with only two riders in 5 vehicals. After our first trail run we got put in another group and I picked up two riders. That stayed with us the rest of the day.
Its a great cause but things didnt go smooth at all. There were rigs sitting around waiting to take people out and at the same time you would have people waiting to be took out but no one could leave till they got the ok to do so.

The only photo I took all weekend long was after I had to put my jeep on the trailer on the way home becouse a ticking sound started in the frontend. I just swaped out jeeps with my budy and drove his home so he can haul my jeep and his bugy back to his shop.
It was still a great weekend but Im not so sure Ill go next year becouse of the way the event was ran.

Nice I'm going in June so hopefully it won't be so packed like you said. Also is your jeep a 2012 born date of 7-11 through 11-11. I have the same on mine.
