Hi all. I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. I have a high pitched squeal that comes from my front end. It ususally happens when I make low speed tight turns like pulling into a parking spot or doing a u-turn. It sounds like metal on metal. I know it's not the brakes. I recently replaced them and it the sound continued. A friend of mine suggested a "dry u-joint". I'm thinking it's a bearing of some sort. Any thoughts? Is there something I can lube or something I can service?

there is a unit bearing in there..and tight turns do put lateral pressure on it and the u-joints

Cool. Is there someplace to lube to reduce or eliminate the squeal?

not that I know of. A squeal is usually a bearing that has either wore out of round or was froze in one spot and wore a flat spot, over heated and distorted, etc. once that happens its a squealer unless replaced. (or it disintegrates!)
