So I bought this jeep around 3 months ago for my DD and some offroading here and there. It came entirely stock this was it right when I got it home

Attachment 109160

First thing I did was find some new tires, being a poor high school kid I had to wait until I could find a great deal on some. After a lot of waiting and looking around, I found some that were perfect. But they were 17s so back to looking for rims. Found some old ford cop car 17 in rims and went out and got the tires.

Attachment 109161

The tires in the back are the ones I bought and the ones in the front are the tires I had on my jeep.

After I got the tires mounted and balanced I was all outta money so now I'm saving up for a lift.

After alittle trail riding with some friends

Sasquatch 4x4 03-29-2012 11:56 AM

I actually like those wheels. I got a thing for steelys. Lookin good bro

95YJkid14 03-29-2012 07:30 PM

Yeah when I bought them I was kinda worried they would look bad but I like them

Sasquatch 4x4 03-29-2012 11:17 PM

Not at all for jeeps I like that rugged basic look over the fancy as chrome and shine look

95YJkid14 03-30-2012 09:42 AM

Yeah I hear ya man

I've been thinking about what the next few steps will be on modding my jeep and I've come up with the most important
1. Lighting (inside and out)
2. Lock box of some sort (college bound in a few months)
3. Lift (thinking 2.5 rc)
4. Frameless soft top
Thats all I have right now and having no money, those are going to take awhile. If you have any suggestions of things I'd need to do. Let me know

yjkid95 04-02-2012 08:02 PM

Man you practically stole my name! And practically bought the same jeep as me same color and I bought mine back in highschool too....although its been progressing a wee bit. Youll get everything you want for it just set goals and stay motivated.
On the lift kit note I would not reccommend rough country. There lifts ride like theres no suspension at all. Save up more money and wait to get a good quality lift like the ome 2.5 lift.

95YJkid14 04-02-2012 08:33 PM

Haha my bad about the name man! And yeah I just havta stay motivated. And yeah I heard rc lifts weren't great, I think I'll save up money from my summer job and get a better lift. Thanks for the input

yjkid95 04-02-2012 09:32 PM

Also plan ahead for future mods. Likeeeeee lets say down the road youd like oh say a Chevy 350 small block and a big winch and front bumper youll need heavy duty springs up front so they wont sag so much. See what I mean? Even though you have 31's go ahead and throw a 8.8 rear end in it. That way you have the supporting mods to let your jeep fully develope.
Ya feel me dog?

Good idea, I had been reading up on replacing for 8.8, never a bad idea to just be ready for anything.

Got up this morning to work on some things I needed for my jeep. I hate when the things in my center console rattle around everywhere whenever I go wheeling so I made a divider for it

Attachment 110672

Just made it from a board I found in my dads truck. The next thing I did this morning was reprint my front bumper. The owner before me told me that the first day he got it he went out into the woods and tried to push over a pretty big tree.... I asked him why he did it and his words "it's a jeep it can do anything!" haha it made my day but now I have a slight bend in my front bumper. I repainted it black and my tow hooks also.

Attachment 110674

Just used some bed liner spray paint I had.

Sasquatch 4x4 04-03-2012 01:37 PM

nice gives the jeep some good character

95YJkid14 04-08-2012 07:15 PM

So a few days I had alittle too much fun and got stuck tryin to turn around on a hill in the rain and dug myself in pretty deep and had no shovel or a way to pull myself out so I called my uncle who also has a wrangler. After about two hours I was finally out and made a self note to get a shovel and come along in my jeep as soon as possible. So today I found out that my dad had an old E-tool and a come along in his old shed and he let me have it. I used bungie cords to secure them under my hood on the said of the wheel wells. It's a good short term solution to having them untill i can get some brackets to hold them down. Its too dark to take pictures but will do tomorrow

Sasquatch 4x4 04-08-2012 08:35 PM

i have a come along that i carry with me, never thought of putting it under the hood, thats a great idea

95YJkid14 04-08-2012 10:29 PM

Yeah I was going to try to put it somewhere inside my jeep and get brackets for it but my dad just opened the good and used a bungie cord to secure it to the right on top of the wheel well and nudged up against the air intake

yjkid95 04-09-2012 08:41 AM

Do you know the year and model of the ford cop car you got those rims from by chance? Im about to paint my jeep OD and those rims painted OD would be sick on it.

95YJkid14 04-09-2012 11:18 AM

He said that they are off like an 06 or 07 police interceptor like the cop cars that chas

95YJkid14 04-09-2012 11:19 AM

billy_YJ 07-23-2012 08:01 AM

Nice, how long did it take you to install the lift kit? Any problems beyond a few stubborn bolts?

95YJkid14 08-05-2012 09:46 AM

It took about 4 hours but I had some help. A few bolts tht didn't wanna come out but not badd

The Toolman 08-05-2012 10:38 AM

Very nice, makes it alot more capable doesn't it? :thumb:

95YJkid14 08-13-2012 10:59 AM

95YJkid14 08-13-2012 11:00 AM
