Just got my 1st Jeep - love the Rocky Mountains - more into photography than climbing but love my new toy!!!!:punk:

My wife and I live near Fort Calhoun and go to Pagosa Springs, CO for a big Parelli horse conference every Sept at a minimum. Last year we spent a week in RMNP/Estes Park it was awesome!

Not from Nebraska, but most all of my family lives in Central City, around a half hour from Grand Island. If I ever take the Jeep out that way I'll let yall know.

Technically Fremont, (Northwest of Omaha), About 40 minutes to Omaha and 50 minutes to Lincoln
I work in Omaha though, well OK I am employed and draw a check in Omaha :)

Oh..ok. Yeah I was just back there a few months back for the holidays. Central City sure isn't the place to be. Time forgot about that place. I think its about 1979 there.

Then its aged about 10 years sine the last time I went through there, about 2 years ago..
I could have swore I stepped back to the 1960's, nothing but old GMC and ford trucks everywhere I looked :)

 Just a boring landscape, too. All flat, for a while. Wouldn't be too much wheelin fun other than mud.

I'm not from Nebraska but I stayed in Lincoln for a week once. Is the Cornhusker Hotel there in downtown? It was about 15 or 16 years ago when I was there. I loved that town.

Just moved to Nebraska a few months ago. Not to bad except it gets cold here and no where to go wheelin.

Central City?

Do they still have the River Rats Association in Central City? Used to be huge, usually 50-150 Jeeps running the river.

First time for me on this Forum. I am in the process of looking for a older Wrangler, don't have a lot of money to spend, but want to get started. Mostly a weekend play vehicle. If any of you know of something let me know. Hoping to spend under $3500 but don't want a piece of junk either. By the way I live about an hour south of Lincoln, life long Husker.

Beach Rider 07-14-2010 09:45 PM

Recently moved to Florida from Omaha....but will always be a Husker!!! Just bought my first YJ 89 and I'm in love!!!! Lots of ridin' places on the beach here! Good Luck!
