New Member with question!

I have been a jeep owner for 5 years, I just recently traded in my 06 jeep wrangler sport X for a 07 Jeep sahara unlimited. I love love love it!! Today on my way to work was the first time I've drove it in the rain, I have a rear windshield wiper that looks to be connected but my jeep doesn't have the switch to turn it on that the manual shows you, which makes no sense to me? Why would it be there with the motor and everything and not have a switch for it. I also noticed while investigatiing this that I don't have the switch for the rear defrost? Can anyone shed some light on this for me???

Dang! I have the opposite problem on my 09 with a Bestop hardtop. I have the switches but no wiper.

It's pretty simple. The Jeep didn't come from the factory equipped with a hard top. The hard top was added later.

Oh, I guess that is pretty simple. So there's no way to get it to work then?

But the hardtop came with the switches and back window with the defroster wires. My switches are up along the roofline on the hardtop. They are yellow and blue lighted toggle switches.

I think you can get the parts to add these controls for $150 then just factor in labor. Or do the wiring yourself and then get the computer flashed after. My hard top was an afterthought and I find I don't really need the wiper or defroster and I'm up here in new England

I don't really need them either, I'm in MS. But it was just bugging me, I might spend the money to get em to work one day if needed.

On to another question, my husband has been trying to figure out if he can get the dvd player to work while driving? We take alot of road trips, I know it is a safety feature but I won't be watching it while I'm driving, really the only time it would be used would be when he's riding with me out of town somewhere. Just wondering?

That's an aftermarket set up.

Google lockpick.

Thanks, wish there was a cheaper way, but that adds alot of other features too. So I guess it's worth it.

Yes it is as stated in my original post. I think it was either mid-year 09 or in 10 that Jeep started putting hardtops on stock vehicles but I could be off by a year. Bestop discontinued the tops and sold the dies to Keystone. My hardtop is actually better than the Jeep because it has superior insulation.
